February sunrise over Denman and Hornby Islands. This morning the fog blanketed the islands, so calm along Baynes Sound and on the bay.

Autumn has arrived at the Boathouse. The fog has been rolling around the bay, Denman and Hornby Islands. Sparkling waters on the bay and the salmon are jumping before they spawn in Brooklyn Creek. It's 22 degrees celsius and the leaves are falling. Wishing all our lovely friends and family a very Happy Thanksgiving on Monday, sending our best from the Boathouse.

Our lovely guest from the UK left us yesterday, a bittersweet goodbye, as we know she is on to great adventures ahead, but we will miss her. I cleaned out the birdhouse on the Boathouse yesterday as well, Mama House Wren built a gorgeous nest and had 3 darling babies this year. They kept the Gravenstein Apple tree free of bugs. I marvel at the superb engineering and beauty of their strong, comfy nests. These birds prefer a clean nest box every year so I have the honour of removing the old nest. I know Mama or one of her babies will be back next spring. Gives me hope. With love from Bramble Cottage and the Boathouse, wishing everyone a wondrous Fall.

What a wonderful summer and early fall of perfect weather we've had this year. Thank you to all our new friends who have visited and stayed in the Boathouse.

The Boathouse is open year round for rentals. The cottage is heated and there is a down quilt on the Queen bed and extra blankets if you wish.

Mom and Pop Otter and their three pups arrived on the beach in front of the Boathouse on Monday. So lovely to see them out of the water. Mama seal hangs out with this year's pup and last year's pup on the logs in the bay. She's teaching them to hunt for food.

The Limelight Hydrangea is just starting to show how it got it's name, it's white blooms are blushing a soft lime green.

The fog is rolling in this morning, Canada Geese floating by in the bay and the crickets are chirping. Fall is coming but it's still summer here at the Boathouse. It's going to be 29 degrees today and the swimming is fine!

The last Supermoon of the summer, the Sturgeon moon over the Beaufort Mountain range and Comox Harbour. Happy Friday everyone!
