https://gofund.me/f716d0a3 Coastal Springs Float Lodge (formerly Sailcone Wilderness Fishing) has been in operation since 1977 on the British Columbia Coast between Knight Inlet and the The Broughton Archipelago. Through this history we have developed a culture, staff, and experience that is unlike anything else you will find in BC. On

ly accepting 8 guests or less per group allows us to give you the most personal and private fishing experience available. With all 5 Pacific Salmon species, halibut, ling cod, rockfish, grizzly bears, orcas, humpbacks, dolphins, eagles and more, our protected waters will give you a trip to remember for years to come. Our floating lodge has been in operation since 1977 and was built on the simple value that an exclusive, personal operation will always outperform that of a large faceless one. This was simple in the early days as there were few large lodges to compare ourselves to. However, we now find ourselves as one of the smallest lodges on the BC coast as most others have decided to shift their focus to volume. Not us. Our 8-guest capacity offers an experience not available elsewhere, as your group alone can easily take exclusive use of the lodge with a group of 6 or more - fully guided with only 2 guests per boat. Our all-inclusive trips also include float plane transportation between Vancouver or Campbell River and the lodge, accommodation, all gourmet meals, wine, fuel, gear, boats, fish processing and packaging, cold weather gear, and licenses. All you need to do is find yourself at the float plane dock, and we take care of everything for you after that. The lodge has gone through changes over the years, but its heart has remained the same. It is a pillar of the area and has been running longer than any other local lodge. As one of the first ever fly-in lodges in BC, its reputation is stellar, built on the history of the many fishers who have walked its docks - guests and staff alike. Cam Reid of Coastal Springs Float Lodge is launching a fundraiser on behalf of the BC angling community to help fund the rebuilding of Telegraph Cove and the Whale Interpretive Centre, destroyed by fire on December 31.

He is doing this by running the BMO Vancouver Marathon, collecting donations online until race day on May 4.

In exchange for your generous support he will be keeping you updated on his painful and deeply unpleasant training, as well as entering you in a prize draw for incredible prize donations from , , and . More prize donations are always welcome!

“Since I started guiding at 16 I have likely stepped foot in Telegraph Cove many hundreds of times by both land and sea. It is a thriving hub of our disparate remote community who is reeling at its loss. We owe all we can spare to help bring it back to what it was. There is a long road ahead for everyone involved but hopefully we can help with some of it. Insurance will hopefully help, but as someone who owns similar marine structures, I know that community involvement and support will be needed to rebuild anew.” -Cam Reid

Please, Give generously! Telegraph Cove is an incredible success story of what a tiny coastal community is capable of. We don’t have many of those left. 100% of funds will be divided between Telegraph Cove’s and the WIC’s respective official fundraisers. Donations and prize draw will conclude on May 4, 2025. See the GoFundMe Campaign for donation and prize draw entry info!

We are deeply hurt and sorrowful for our friends at Telegraph Cove today. While this fire is not yet out and it is too early to know the extent of the total damage, this is a massive loss for Vancouver Island. We will be there to help in any way needed in the following months. Stay safe.

*Public Safety Announcement*
Please stay out of Telegraph Cove while our crews are working. People going down to watch is hindering our crews effort to extinguish. Unfortunately parts of the boardwalk have been lost.

Last chance to check out our Salmon Trout Steelheader article written by Kris Olsen this summer! Pick up the back issue from their site if it’s off the shelves already. The trip included 37 lb tyees, lots of Chinook in the teens and 20s, coho coho coho, and an excellent follow up to Kris’ original piece written about our lodge 27 years ago! Give it a read and let us know what you think. It was a fun few days today the least.

We have some of the best salmon fishing in BC, hands down. However, we also have some of the most dense and healthy populations of orca, humpbacks, grizzly bears, sea otters, and many other critters who utilize this ecosystem as well.

We very often spot orca from the boat, nearly always see multiple humpbacks, and can certainly find a bear or 2 or 3. We often have guests ask if they can take a shift to tour the wildlife, then quickly decide to stick with fishing as it becomes clear that we get a better show than most dedicated wildlife tours do given how long we are on the water, camped out in a single spot.

We fish hard, but our trips are as flexible as you need them to be. Get in touch with us to find your place in summer of 2025.

Fishing For 40 Years.

Our protected location lets us take advantage of glass calm waters unavailable to most other lodges in British Columbia. This combined with a lodge designed to accommodate smaller groups makes Coastal Springs Float Lodge the premier salmon fishing experience in British Columbia. From the central location of the lodge, we fish Knight Inlet and the surrounding waters for all five species of Pacific salmon, with our main focus on the large Chinook (King or Tyee) with our well seasoned staff seeing to it that every effort is made to make your stay a memorable one. Knight Inlet is prime Black Bear and Grizzly Bear habitat, Bald Eagles, Orcas and other wildlife are abundant, fishing is superb, and the river system supports a phenomenal fall salmon run. The opportunities for nature photography in Knight Inlet are world-renowned. With ever-changing cycles of nature, each trip is unique. You will discover the excitement of being amongst whales, bald eagles, and more in their natural habitat. An unpredictable wilderness, full of surprises is waiting for you. You will never forget this! For complete information visit our website at www.coastalsprings.net
