Beach walk today at a very low tide and found some purple starfish. They were huge!
So happy that the warmer weather is upon us now and spring flowers are out in full force. Hubby is finding some creatures as he often does. A Cinnabar moth and a small salamander?
Really enjoying getting out for some great hikes. Saw an eagle diving in the water and then swimming to shore yesterday.

Found a new trail on Stoney hill. Short but steady uphill climb but well worth the view from the top.

Beautiful day for a hike with a friend.
I haven’t been to Cobble Hill Mtn for a long time. It didn’t let me down in both the “butt” burn and the view from the top. My friend Linda then made some hot tea in her little single camp burner and the tea went nicely with the zuchini brownies I brought.
We are so happy Spring is almost here. Summer is starting to fill up and a new booking for winter 2023 already!
Our little escape has begun. Watching our first sunset of many and enjoying the sand beneath our feet.

Visited the Malahat Skywalk again but this time on a weekday and hardly anyone there. We braved the slide this time. You have to try it. So fast!! My Aunt from Winnipeg chickened out.
It’s really official, Phil has retired! 40 years in the flooring industry.
After taking in a hike around Stoney Hill, his brother Bruce and his wife Joanne treated us to a fabulous dinner at the Alpina restaurant at the Villa Eyerie resort. The food and service were the best we’ve ever had and the views were spectacular. The clouds added some gorgeous colour to the beautiful sunset. So so memorable.
We plan on having a bigger celebration for him at a later date.
Loved the big mast and the wooden rings on the Providence. Built in 1903!

“The Providence”, built in 1903. Very cool 3 hour cruise. The weather was perfect too! My highlight was when they hoisted the big main sail.

The flowers are loving this beautiful sunshine. And so are we!
The gardens are starting to look quite full and lots of flowers. No shortage of bees here.
Great for my guests to enjoy some outdoor music.
5pm Rockland Moran his slide capabilities and knowledge of the blues genre gives us a fine evening of the acoustic guitar defining the blues

We recently visited Merridale Cidery and it was fantastic. We recently went gluten free and they had a gluten free pizza crust and gluten free brioche buns options on their menu. So delicious and we’d highly recommend eating here.
