The magic of with is over and I am back to the real world. I would go back to Antarctica in a heartbeat - it is quiet, beautiful, and the animals (penguins, whales, and seals) roam free. 🐧

There are thousands of beautiful icebergs, and you can sit in your cabin and watch them go back with a glass of wine and a book! It is incredibly peaceful. You never see another ship. The ships that operate to Antarctica are beautiful so there will be no hardships there. 🛳️

If this is of interest at all - don’t wait! With global warming affecting water temperatures, animals will move even further south. Now is the perfect time to go, December and January are the best months. ✈️

I would love to talk about Antarctica anytime - call me at Paull Travel (780-428-6031), and remember… it is not cold. I have travelled many places in my long travel career, but Antarctica has my heart. 🇦🇶🤍 ~ Lesley

with is getting even better if that’s possible! The icebergs are calving and are incredible shapes. 🌨️

And the most exciting? The captain stopped the ship (the ) and we were surrounded by humpbacks! There were at least 30 of them and we watched them circle us for 3 hours. It was truly an incredible sight. 🐋

The captain also tried the Lemaire Channel, which is extremely narrow. The ship got approximately 30% in, but the icebergs had fallen in and blocked us so we had to back out. It made for some great pictures though! 🛳️

Well we (Lesley and our group of PT clients) have made it through the Drake passage! 🛳️

It was a little rough but not too bad and we have now arrived on the White Continent: Antarctica! Words simply cannot describe the beauty of Antarctica, and if you ever get the chance, it’s worth it. 🇦🇶

Why come to Antarctica when you live in Edmonton? You may ask… Well firstly, it’s +5 degrees here so not very cold as it is their “summer”! And of course, it is spectacular: there is so much to see. Thousands of penguins, seals, whales, birds, beautiful icebergs, and glaciers calving (which sounds like thunder). It’s something impossible to describe. ❄️

This morning we did a hike, and this afternoon some passangers went on a submarine, some went kayaking, and some went out on zodiacs looking for whales! It is most certainly the trip of a lifetime. 🐳

We are all about during the holiday season! Our office pooled together to participate in the Edmonton Chamber’s Holiday Hamper program - brightening the lives of 2 families local to our community. We were also happy to give back with the program, contributing gifts and everyday essentials for children at a local school. Lesley, Rhonda, and Jalene are pictured donating their time to these great causes! ❤️
