This particular photo was of our 3rd season operating & my daily motto was “fake it till ya make it”. 😂. As a scared 16 year old “manager”, I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I started managing A/Z Adventures when I, Kenzie, was only 16 years old. That makes this year our 10th year operating. Holy smokes the time sure flies…. My first season I practically cried everyday (behind the scenes lol), fighting to figure out payroll, hiring staff (that were much older than me), scheduling, marketing, handling upset customers that couldn’t take a 16 year old seriously, & of course coordinating the day to day horsemanship factors involved.
By the end of that first season, I had decided I would NEVER do the trail rides again. By the time the Spring rolled around, sure enough I ended up deciding giving it another whirl. Here we are, 10 years later and I am so glad that I stuck with it! Our small business has come along way from a naive teenager scrambling as a one woman show.
Today, not only do we have multiple incredible full time trail guides : .abbott05 , Michelle, but we also have a new trail ride manager , coordinating all the daily operations. They’ve done an incredible job this season and we feel so lucky to have these outstanding women on our team 🙌🏼. Aside from the Fairmont trail rides, we also have our multi-day backcountry adventures- a full operation all on its own. blows us away time and time again with her abilities to manage an overwhelming about of backcountry trips, and as our hard working assistant -everything done with grace. along with his entire family & Paul, and Carter always swoop in when we are in a bind- THANK YOU! We can’t thank our team enough.
My dad, Brent (and his dad before him), ran the outfitting established in 1948, but it wasn’t until 2014 that we started up the hour trail rides & adventure side of the company. & a big thanks to my dad for the encouragement & believing in me all these years.
Thanks to our CUSTOMERS & GUESTS for making our adventure dreams reality! 💗
