Woodworking started for me around six years old. my parents were wonderful enough to supply me with a carving kit, pocket knife and sharpening stone. I soon learned that my ventures down to the shop should include a box of band aids for scratched and cut fingers. Throughout highschool I was almost always in one of the shops, or daydreaming and designing my next attempt at design. Post graduation b
rought me to a custom luthier course with Lado Custom Guitars for 5 months to help hone my skills and develop an eye for detail. Followed by a two year course for woodworking technology at Conestoga College in Kitchener ON. An amazing network of family and friends has allowed me to work and travel an abundance of western Canada. From general construction, to timber framing, furniture and cabinet construction to carving, I am lucky enough to have tasted many different kinds of construction techniques and different approaches to the art that is woodworking. My ideas usually come from a very linear thought progression, but have recently taken on a more free form and fluid approach from time spent with a carver. As the name implies, I work best when given a project, or a problem, and am given the freedom to start from the ground up to provide a solution.
