We finally made it home the Thursday after the property was officially listed on the market. We really needed to thank God as there was a crazy storm that weekend, and the open house didn't happen. It felt meant to be as we were the first ones to arrive and see the property. We took a day to think about it and visited again to walk the property. Something was pulling us here, and we never would have realized just what it was until now. It is nothing short of a magical place, one that has over the years brought us such joy and happiness. And now doing the same for others as well… funny, from our first hike, we stumbled across a hidden area of majestic maple trees off the side of the small moraine hill and stopped. A tree-sphere belongs here! …12 yrs later, that same spot is one of 3, which have been designed to seamlessly integrate a spherical treehouse! Will it be the one you choose to visit?

Two years ago, before selling our downtown Toronto condo, we were searching for a new place to call home. We felt we needed to be about an hour from Toronto because of work. Remember, this was 12 years ago when remote work wasn't common. While staying in spherical treehouses on Vancouver Island, we faced a big question: Where would we live when we got home? Surprisingly, managing my design clients on the road was easy, even from a treehouse!

Johnny and I decided to widen our property search area, and we found it—a 72-acre property with diverse landscapes in Priceville, a place we had never heard of. It was just listed, and an open house was happening that weekend. We looked at each other…well, we kind of spent our travel reserve fund, so maybe it was time to head home… or to a new home? Honestly, we were surprised BC didn’t claim us and that we did come back to Ontario.

Driving across Canada was a wonderful experience, and we enjoyed every minute of it. Thankfully, our Jeep was new, as the terrain coming out of BC is crazy. We took our time and talked a lot about our ideas to bring the spherical treehouses to Ontario and other things we could design and create in this new idea of a future… The ideas started to flow!

It became our cocoon. We did not want to leave. We honestly kept asking for another night and then another, but then eventually, everything was booked. It was my birthday celebration (Milena), and so we traveled out to Tofino to some additional unique adventures Tom recommended. He did not disappoint! But we missed the spheres and found ourselves back again in two weeks for Johnny’s birthday. Our first experience was in Melody, which had a fold down murphy-style bed so you could sleep in the center of the sphere and made from (at the time) a new fiberglass mould of Tom’s. Our second stay was in Eryn, one of Tom's original wooden spheres. It was just as exciting!

The most impactful thing for us, other than just how incredibly awesome the spherical treehouses looked and how the interior space transformed from lounging/dining to sleeping/resting, was the natural rhythm of the sphere. Almost buoyant like a boat, but in the trees where the breeze is your current.It was an incredible feeling to be in harmony with the natural environment. Our sleeps were the best we ever had, even to this day. We woke one morning and peaked out the side window and noticed a deer lingering below. Wild! It had no clue we were above looking down. A beautiful encounter without scaring her away…
