LORRAINE ESSER has been enjoying a very rewarding career as owner and operator of her private studio in Burnaby since 1983. Lorraine teaches the curriculum from the Royal Conservatory of Music in piano, voice and theory and is all the Regional District Representative for the Royal Conservatory for the city of New Westminster, B.C. and has her A.R.C.T. and Masters in Pedagogy through the Royal Cons
ervatory and the Leipzig Schule. Her students consistently place first class honors with distinction and Silver Medalled for the province as well as having passed on graduates to the University of British Columbia, Capilano College, University of Victoria and The American Academy of Music in New York. CROW STUDIOS offers a large 2000 square foot space with three grand pianos, allowing for much freedom of movement in a relaxed personal environment. The students receive their weekly individual class time but are also very interactive with one another providing peer and teacher training experience. Theory, technique, sight reading and ear training are comprehensive to every class in additional to the regular one on one time with Lorraine. Each students receives a personalized, individual program catering to their ability to learn according to learning style... Lorraine has always believed and built her personal teaching philosophy on "child before thing" and motivates with contests, concerts, competitions and year end trophy performances. A happy, comfortable student is free to ask questions and learn and grow in emotional safety, and as piano is such a difficult study Lorraine has, over the years refined a program that accomplishes and achieves high results while the student is enjoying and engaged in their own repertoire.
