Overview:
Gunter Lake Cottage features 3+1 bedrooms, a 2nd floor loft and a large open concept living room, dining room and kitchen. Large outdoor decks also provide dining and living spaces. The waterfront area features a sandy beach as well as a dock. Great open concept cottage large enough to entertain family, friends and pets!
Location:
Located about 2.5 to 3 hours from Toronto & Ottawa. Approximately 1 hour north of Belleville and about 40 minutes south of Bancroft. Closest store is Trudy's (approx. 20 minutes away). Closest restaurant is The Gate (approx. 20 minutes away).
Bedrooms:
The cottage sleeps 10+. There are 3 + 1 bedrooms as well as sleeping in the games room. Bed Sheets are provided.
Main floor Master Bedroom features a Queen Bed

2nd floor Master Bedroom features a Queen Bed and a twin bed.
2nd floor Den features a Double Bed (this room is closed off with a curtain not a door)
2nd floor loft features a futon couch that folds into a double bed and an inflatable queen mattress
Kitchen:
All modern conveniences including 2 Fridges, Stove, Dishwasher (soap included), Microwave, Coffee Maker, Kettle, Keurig, cutlery, knives, plates, etc.
Dining Room:
Large table seats 8 plus 2 more at the kitchen breakfast bar. There are also 2 extra dining room chairs if you want to squeeze in!
Living Room:
Large seating area with a couch, loveseat and 4 chairs. This room also features a Wood burning Fireplace (firewood included) and a Flat Screen TV with Satellite internet/TV, DVD , PVR with movies and a Bose Stereo with an aux cable to connect your media.
2nd floor Loft:
Located on the second floor overlooking the main living areas, the loft features a flat screen tv, a wii and an Xbox (limited games for both systems). This room also features a chess set. There is a huge selection of books as well as many board games located in the bookshelves on the main floor. Free wifi is included to keep up with your social media accounts or emails!
Powder Room/Laundry Room/Main Bathroom:
For your convenience, we have on site laundry (soap & dryer sheets included). This room also contains a chest freezer (simply plug it in if you need it) as well as a toilet & vanity (new Sept. 2018). We also have another full bathroom with a shower, toilet and sink.
Screened Porch:
Features an outdoor loveseat and 2 chairs as well as a small dining table that seats 4. There is a dart board in this screened porch area as well. Paddles, Life Jackets and outdoor games (including yardzee!) are in a cabinet in this room. Great views of the lake from here.
Outdoor Decks:
Large wrap around outdoor decks feature an outdoor living room with a loveseat, 2 chairs and 2 adirondack chairs. Views of the lake. The Propane BBQ (gas included) and outdoor dining is also on this deck. We have 2 dining tables outside on the decks. One seats 6 and the other one seats 4. The firewood is stored on the deck (under tarps to keep it dry). The decks have wood screens that can block off the staircase entrances for safety if you want to keep pets or children from leaving the deck area.
Beach Area:
The cottage is set back from the water but it's a short walk across a relatively flat grassy area to reach the water. The waterfront features a sandy beach area with walk in water access that's perfect for dogs, children and seniors. The beach area also has a dock with 2 adirondack chairs and a number of water toys including a canoe, an aluminum boat, stand up paddle boards and kayaks. There is also a firepit close by to the beach for roasting marshmallows and campfires. The dock faces south for lots of sunshine. There is a small table and an umbrella down in the beach area. Want to bring your own boat? No problem... there is a free boat launch nearby and storage for a boat trailer beside our driveway.
Pets:
We love our furry friends and we know that they have a blast on family vacations to the cottage as well. We happily welcome them however, please cover our furniture (with the sheets provided) just in case they jump up! We also ask that you bring their beds with you so that they don't sleep on our beds as a courtesy to other guests. And of course, clean up after them in the yard.
Housekeeping:
To make the cottage enjoyable for all we have a cottage housekeeper that comes in and cleans the cottage between uses. That being said, we ask that you leave the cottage relatively clean (including returning chairs, watercrafts, games, etc. to their proper locations) and that you take all garbage and recycling with you. The cost of cleaning is included in the rental.
Rental Facts:
Cottage rents from Sunday to Sunday. Check in is at 4pm and check out is at 11am. Some Weekend and Monday to Friday bookings are available. See the booking calendar.
Misc:
* Bed Linens are provided as is dish soap, dishwasher tabs, laundry soap and firewood. Please bring your own towels (beach & kitchen) and toilet paper, paper towels & napkins.
* The water is UV treated and filtered and is safe to drink (it is tested). There is a water cooler though if you prefer to bring up your own 18 litre jugs.
* We are on septic so only bring single ply toilet paper (or one that specifically says septic friendly)
* Smoking is permitted outside only (No smoking in the house or in the screened in porch) - please use the ashtrays provided and empty and clean the ashtrays before leaving (take cigarette butts with you)
