BIG NEWS 🎉

Our Poplar tent area is becoming a larger site to allow for bigger groups to enjoy the Boreal Plains experience together!

We have had countless enquiries in the last month regarding larger group bookings and this decision was therefore a no brainer.

Yes we still plan to have our A frame cabin available for rent this summer (hopefully) however this site will allow for groups of 6-8 to enjoy our canvas tents while immersing themselves in the beauty of the outdoors!

We want to hear from you regarding the sleeping arrangements :

Would you prefer 2 double/queen beds in this new tent

OR

6 single floor mattresses to amplify the use of space and the amount of guests

My kind of holiday ❄️

We drove into the site today to do a bit of maintenance and check on a few things and let me be honest :

No matter how cold, or hot, or rainy the weather - I always find myself wanting to stay at the property longer than we do.

It's hard to find a balance between maintaining and enjoying this gorgeous acreage but even in the midst of chores and a never ending list of to do's - I always find myself smiling that we get to do this for a living.

Even if my fingers took a good hour to completely defrost 😅

This is fantastic news for our community!

Even more reason to come out and enjoy the gorgeous area of Gimli ❄️

The Gimli Chamber Of Commerce and the RM Gimli are pleased to announce the creation of the Light Up The Lake Skating Trail and Rink on Lake Winnipeg this season!

Work will begin in the coming days on this FREE outdoor attraction inside the Gimli Harbour. Access will be from the public parking lot.

The trail will include rest stops along the way outfitted with straw bales, solar lighting and garbage receptacles. An ODR (outdoor rink) will also be located inside the harbour complete with more straw bales to make lacing up those skates quick and easy. And outdoor washrooms too!

We are officially considered Super Hosts on our airbnb platform and are honestly so excited about this huge milestone.

Especially within the first 3 months of business!

Thank you to every single guest who took the time to leave us a positive review and feedback, it means so much to us.

Heres to maintaining this status as the year goes on and working towards making Boreal Plains even more enjoyable for our guests!

IMPORTANT UPDATE:

This was a tricky decision for us to make!

We have always wanted to allow people the option of simply testing the waters of camping with an option to stay for a single night

However - we have become so busy that flipping tents sometimes over 3 times in 72 hours with a toddler by my side and a baby in my belly is proving to be quite difficult 🙃

Although we are so thankful for all of the bookings we have received in our first 100 days - we do need to ensure that we are working smarter and also creating the best possible experience for our guests!

We want to be able to take our time with the cleaning process when flipping tents as well as amplifying your stay by having sufficient wood piles stocked and the spa area properly prepped amongst other things.

At the end of the day we are confident that this is the best way to create the best experience for our guests and we hope you understand!

We sincerely look forward to hosting you in the new year ✨

We all know them. Lets be real - most of us are one. But really how could you not be?

One of my favorite Fall memories was the year Sean and I went on a canoe trip with his dad to Caddy Lake. Thinking about it brings a smile to my face!

That crisp air sure is something special and personally gets us feeling all sorts of refreshed physically & mentally

Being the geography buff he is - he mentioned the idea years ago and I was immediately hooked!

Fun fact for you all : this is actually 1/2 of our logos.

Why have more than one logo you might ask?

Truth be told we could not decide because we loved them both for very different reasons!

This beauty will be featured on all of our social media platforms as well as merchandise (sweaters, tees, insulated mugs & more) 👌🏼

Our other logo you ask? That logo will be used for all of our road and property signage - guess you'll have to join us in Arnes to catch a glimpse of it in person!

Bell tent popularity is on the rise these past couple of months and we can see why - just look at 'er!

These beautiful canvas tents offer just the right amount of space (ours are 15 feet in diameter and sleep 2-4 people)

This page and business has been a long time coming but we are beyond excited to finally be here!

Here's a little about us :

We are a little family of 3 - Sean (Papa) Alyssa (Maman) & Ellis (bubs) and we are located in the beautiful Interlake

Our 4 year dream of starting an Eco Tourism company has finally begun with the purchase of our 10 acre paradise, located in Arnes, Manitoba.

Just 15 minutes past the beautiful beach town of Gimli and 2 minutes down the road from Lake Winnipeg - perfectly situated for all of your outdoor enjoyment!

We are beyond thrilled to offer year round canvas camping - not glamping or luxury tenting, but good old quality camping with a cozy, cute and comfortable twist 🌿

In addition, you will have the exciting and educational option of adding Eco Tourism based activities & tours to your stay - all hosted by Sean, who happens to be a certified Manitoban teacher with his major/minor being Geography and History

The cherry on top of it all will be a beautiful A Frame cabin coming summer of 2022 for those larger group getaways that you have been craving after such a long time away from family & friends
