Grand Valley Lions club members Lori and Randy with Lion to be Rob presented a cheque to Verena Tupling of Dufferin Shares (grand Valley Food Bank) in the amount of $1337.74 at the Grand Valley Fall fair on September 21. These funds were raised at the July 1 Car Show's 50-50 draw plus some donated winning from the 2024 Duck race.

Congratulations to Joan Middleton of Brampton who purchased a 50-50 draw at the Grand Valley Lions Canada day 50-50 draw. Joan won $1175. The proceeds go to the Grand Valley Food Bank. Thank you to all who attended this great car show and all the people who bought a 50-50 ticket. Happy Canada Day.

Getting down to the last few days before Duck day, this Saturday, May 25th. Don't wait until Saturday to get your Duck race tickets as they will be all gone. Tickets are $10 each and are at most Grand Valley Merchants. Check out the downtown merchants while you are out and about. Our local merchants support many worthwhile causes in our area so let's support them.

The Grand Valley Lions Club needs you. There is a need for service clubs in our community. Your time is valuable, but your time can be even more valuable to the fabric of your community. Helping the less fortunate, or removing barriers for your fellow citizens is a perfect opportunity for you to make the difference that you always wanted to make along with the fellowship of like-minded neighbours.
For those of you who have recently retired and are looking for a way to give back, as well as keep occupied - Lionism is for you! We also are looking for those younger members that can help bear the burden of some of the more physically demanding aspects of our fundraisers. In fact, each of you have gifts which the Grand Valley Lions need.
All we can ask is that those of you looking to make a contribution to your community consider the Grand Valley Lions as an organization to donate your time to. For nearly 75 years the Lions Club has been there for Grand Valley and area and we'd like to see it continue to be strong for another 75 years!
