As one of the most eagerly awaited adventures among runners from all over the world, this year’s Serengeti Girls Run – the 6th consecutive event – will once again see women of various fitness levels traverse Singita’s private concession in this magnificent wilderness, while making a meaningful contribution to the empowerment of rural Tanzanian girls.

Including a three-day multi-stage run split into 21km legs, this exclusive, goal-driven experience will take place from 27 October to 2 November 2023, and whether on foot or supporting the runners in the shadow vehicle, participants will experience the sights and sounds of this 350,000-acre protected reserve in full – with guided game drives every evening giving them an added front-row seat to the area’s astounding wildlife.

Every moment of this transformative journey will immerse participants in the magic of the Serengeti – from being surrounded by its incredible landscapes throughout each leg of the run, to sharing deeply moving encounters with like-minded women, and visiting far-reaching community & conservation programmes on the ground.

What could be more uplifting during a treatment than some passing wildlife?

Singita's concession in the Kruger National Park is home to sizeable herds of elephant - often easily viewed from the suites at our lodges as they frequent the river.

But even so, it’s still a rare and exciting sighting when one passes through to visit the wellness centre.

HUGE GOAL REVEAL

For over two years, I have personally supported the girls and women empowerment program in Tanzania from the sidelines. But this October, I hope to join a small group of women taking part in the Serengeti Girls Run in Tanzania and complete three half marathons (21km per day) over three days. However, should the circumstances of the world change, I will do the run here….through the snow…in Canada instead. 🥶

I have a HUGE fundraising goal I am aiming to meet, so any amount that can be spared to support this important cause would be much appreciated. All proceeds will go directly to the Grumeti Fund girls and women empowerment program in Tanzania.
