The stunning beauty of winter... ❄️🌲❄️

The winter solstice this weekend used in a cold snap, freezing our big lakes over as trees popped and cracked all night.🧊⛸️

And today and tonight, a wonderful dump of new snow is falling to set the trails up even deeper for a wonderful wee of dogsledding ahead! ❄️☃️❄️

What more could winter lovers ask for for Christmas??!!

We celebrated some very special birthdays recently! 🎂🥳

Our adorable, developmentally challenged Spot turned 14 against all odds. And the beautiful and loveable Grampa K2 turned 16. 🎉🎉🎉🎉

Both are still going strong, although they do enjoy napping alot more than they used too. 🐕🥰😴

Last night on the eve of the official opening of our 25th season, it couldn't have been more beautiful. 🌟❄️

An almost full moon overhead shone as we had a fire roaring heating up the trailhead cabin and were out grooming trails again. 🔥🌕

With all the snow the last couple of weeks and our new snowmaker, the trails are in incredible shape, and it's not even officially winter yet! ☃️

Winter 2024/25, here we go! We couldn't be more excited or grateful! 🎉🙏

As we watch the full moon rise tonight, we can't help but think that soon we will be running our moonlite tours in January and February during those full moons.🌕🦫

Dogsledding at night is an incredible experience that only a handful of guests get to enjoy each winter. From the peace and quiet of a winter's night, to the moon and stars sparkling off the snow - at times making it so bright you don't even need the headlamps we provide. 🌕✨🔦❄️

And then to come across a roaring bonfire in the middle of the wilderness in a clearing, with hot chocolate, smores and snacks to sit and share stories and tales with Hank and our guides and fellow guests. This is the only tour you are guaranteed to have Hank as your guide. 🔥🔥☕

It is an incredibly exciting day here today! For 23 years since our first mild winter, we have discussed snowmaking to help guarantee snow for our guests. Today, it became a reality!! ❄️❄️❄️❄️

A huge thank you to SMI Snowmakers for all the help the last 2 years working with us to make this day possible! 🙏

We are all beyond excited about what this means for Winterdance moving forward. 🎉🎉🎉

He is getting quite adept at moving well with his cast. Yesterday, he got his 3rd one on. Next week, he'll have another x-ray to see how things are healing. 🤞🤞🤞
