On this Travel Agent Appreciation Day, I would like to take the time to say a heartfelt "Thank You" to our outstanding staff!
This year we suddenly lost our President and my father, Bill Dewey. As one of the oldest cottage rental businesses in the region, we immediately decided to continue Bill's legacy of providing awesome cottage vacation experiences in the Ontario Highlands. It would not be possible without our amazing staff.
So please join me in appreciating Fran, Melanie and Pam for keeping the business running smoothly during our time of loss and change. They are the Big Hearts to our small business 💓

Visit our website, check out our 2024 lineup up of cottages and call our knowledgeable staff to book a vacation now while there is availability for this summer, fall and winter seasons!

Due to illness, Sandra Bouza is unable to perform tonight.

We are excited to announce that Joshe Piche will be performing at tonight’s Music in the Park.

Josh Piché is a Toronto based singer-songwriter, guitarist & producer. Born & raised in Winnipeg, he learned playing, singing, songwriting & performing from some of the city's best musicians, eventually moving east to Toronto for a taste of the big city.
Piché's early career saw him cutting his teeth as a sideman, playing with bands all over Toronto. He eventually landed the position as guitarist & musical director for award winning blues/soul band Irene Torres & The Sugar Devils. With Torres he wrote two studio albums, toured internationally, & showcased at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis. They eventually found themselves opening for Gino Vanelli, New Orleans pianist Jon Cleary, performing with Downchild Blues Band & playing some of Canada's biggest blues festivals.
Their second album featured collaborations with organ legend Ike Stubblefield & electric bassist/TV actor Cornell Williams.
Josh also performed & recorded with Juno nominated troubadour Julian Taylor, appearing on his album Desert Star, including his UK hit single "Just A Little Bit". In 2020, Piché found himself on the Canadian Country Music awards performing with Canadian
country superstar Brett Kissel.
Piché’s 2021 self titled EP garnered play on Jazz FM91.1 & CBC Radio. The disc features Steve Pelletier on bass (Colin James, Jarvis Church, Matt Andersen, Julian Taylor), drummer Don Pham (Jarvis Church, Jacksoul), Eddy Ruyter on Keys (Shawn Mendes), guitar session master Mitch Lewis (Prof. Piano, Chuck Jackson, Raffi), Pat Rush (Jeff Healey, Johnny Winter, The Allman Brothers) & guest singer Irene Torres.
As a dedicated member of Toronto’s live music community, Josh is also a founding member of Canopy Music Theatre, an open air, socially distanced venue formed in Toronto for musicians during the COVID19 pandemic. The project was featured on CBC
National Radio, Blog TO & went on to win NOW Magazine's Best Live Music Venue 2021.
2023 will see the track by track release of Piché's new full length studio album Strobo. Featuring collaborations with Steve Pelletier, Mitch Lewis, Miles Gibbons (Serena Ryder, Aysanabee) Kurt Nielsen (Banners) and co-writes with Derek Downham (Andy Kim, Broken Social Scene, Serena Ryder).

At my age I guess I qualify to be an antique, but my mind is sharp and I recall so many things going way back to when I was just a lad; but then if I do draw a blank, there is always today’s computer. When I was a boy Canada’s population was less than nine million, today there are over thirty-nine million of us and eight billion across the globe. https://buff.ly/43P5VvS

The Highland Buckslide Blues Society, Haliburton County Folk Society, Haliburton Forest and Canoe FM are pleased to present the Haliburton Highlands Blues Festival on August 25/26, 2023. The Festival will be held at Haliburton Forest. FMO Members/Past Showcasers Jenie Thai and Sandra Bouza will perform on Friday night!

The line-up for Saturday will be The Smoke Wagon Blues Band, Jim Dan Dee, Rosie’s Smokehouse Deluxe, The Swingin’ Blackjacks, The Erin McCallum Band, Chuckee Zehr & Cheryl Lescom, Erin McCallum & Teddy Leonard, and Sean Cotton and Tamica Herod.

This festival is a tribute to Patrick Monaghan. 100.9 Canoe FM and the entire blues community mourn the loss of Patrick. He was the host of the multi-award winning Buckslide Blues Cruise radio show and a recent winner of a Maple Blues Award. Patrick went far above and beyond just playing the songs. He was an ambassador and champion of the blues, promoting up-and-coming musicians, particularly Canadian artists. He traveled to blues festivals across Ontario to discover new artists, interview and spotlight their music on his radio show.
