Join us for a 1 hour and 40 minute walk through Halifax’s historic city streets with tales of ghosts, spirits, forerunners and devils with maybe a hanging or two thrown in for good measure.
Stories collected from the folklore of Nova Scotia.
All supported with a good dose of local history to give context to the ghost stories themselves.

We do not use third party booking sites.

2025 Schedule:
Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights in May starting May 2nd.

Almost every night of the week starting June 1st and running until November 2nd.

Most tours start at 8:30pm from the Old Town Clock on Citadel Hill and finish on the waterfront by The Maritime Museum of the Atlantic.

During peak times, additional tours will start at 6pm or 7:30pm.

On this day we think about The Halifax Explosion that happened at 9:04am December 6, 1917. Nearly 2000 people lost their lives.
We hope that through the stories we tell, the past is remembered and the lives lost are never forgotten.

Hi Everyone.
Thanks for a spooktacular 2024 season.
We have finished tours for the year and will pick up again with public tours on May 2, 2025.

Private group tours for 10 or more people are available year round depending on guide availability and weather conditions.

The Halifax Ghost Walk, is a walking tour through downtown Halifax, Nova Scotia with tales from the city's folklore including ghosts, pirates, forerunners and devils.
With a healthy dose of history to give the stories context.

Halifax's Original Ghost Tour, established in 1990.

*Earlier tours may be added in peak season.

A NOTE ABOUT DOGS:
Although we like dogs, for the comfort of all our guests, some of whom may not be ok with dogs, we ask that you leave your dog(s) at home or with a dog sitter.
The nature of our tour is based on storytelling and creating an atmosphere that draws our guests into the stories. If a dog on the tour has a reaction or barks at a dog passing by with its owner, or if more than one dog is brought to the tour and they don’t get along, it breaks the spell and becomes distracting for the other guests and for the guides themselves.
