Sable Island National Park Reserve can be tricky to reach - even with the best of conditions. So it's wonderful when an adventure to goes off the first time like a charm!

Yesterday had perfect weather throughout, our wildlife friends put on a spectacular show, we learned insightful lessons on ocean plastics and the island's ecology, plus we had a fun and engaging group of Maritimers who made the day absolutely memorable.

Thank you to our incredible guests; Sarah with Parks 🇨🇦; helicopter pilots Dave and Michelle with Vision Air; and, of course, Zoe from the Sable Island Institute for sharing insights about her current research projects on the island.

Summer is sold out... but there are just 9 seats left between two helicopter flights in October. It's the last chance to visit this magical ribbon of sand this year!

We are thrilled to kick off a brand new series that dives into the stunning biodiversity of our beloved island. 🏝️ This summer, join us every Friday as we showcase the incredible flora that thrives on the beaches and dunes of the island. 🌼

Sable Island is more than just sand and marram grass (though it's pretty spectacular too!). From delicate seaside blooms to hardy coastal plants, each week we will bring you a closer look at the vibrant colors and unique adaptations that make the island's vegetation so special.
