Soft, sandy white beaches with warm, clear water - it’s perfectly simple and you can’t beat the cost of a Cuba trip. I’ve been to Cuba 3 times now and each region I’ve visited has been unique, but the beaches consistently amaze me.
My last trip was to Brisas Guardalavaca (Holguin) - the beach, the people and the service were incredible!

Prices will fluctuate but generally the best time to book winter trips is the end of the summer. If your dream getaway includes individual flights, I recommend 3-4 months in advance, or 6+ if booking with points to get the best prices.

Who says All-Inclusives have to mean sitting on the beach 24/7? ☀️
So often I see people going to Cuba and just seeing their resort, but it’s so easy and safe to get out and see a bit more!
🐾 volunteer! Bring donations for an animal rescue group or vet clinic - even the most basic supplies are difficult to find on shelves right now. (These dogs are a crew of 5 rescues at the horse ranch across from Sol Rip de Lunes y Mares - they always need more puppy food!
🚙 take a jeep safari excursion: you can find these tours out of most resorts and because you’re in a jeep versus a tour bus, you get a closer look at life around you. Some you even get to drive! (Ours was the “Mountain Jeep Adventure”, from Guardalavarca into the Sierra Maestra mountains)
🚕 take a cab ride literally anywhere: the vintage cars make for a super fun way to explore. A lot of these cars have been passed down through family generations and drivers are always excited to share the story of their vehicle
🌳 use Google Maps to find a hike nearby. It can be hard to find tourism info online for Cuba but Maps is a great spot to find ideas and reviews to know what to expect. (Las Guanas Eco-Archeoligical Park - 30CAD roundtrip from our resort for 3 people + taxi waited while we hiked. Park was 3USD entry, ~1.5km hike with a great viewpoint, flora/fauna signage and a preserved archeological cave site)
