✨Wedding Inspo Wednesday ✨
We have thought long and hard to come up with a few tips and tricks to help you find the perfect invitations for your wedding!

💌Theme - you want to make sure that your invitations embody the theme of your wedding as well. Remember the invitations are what your guests see first and hold on to, it is one of the first traditions associated with your special day. You can either match the theme entirely or simply the main colours of your theme
💌Wording - remember to take the time to think about the wording of your invitations, depending on if word count is built into the price of the invitations or cost more you may want to strategically plan the wording to be more cost efficient
💌 Numbers - We often think that we need invitations based on our guest list number however this is a common trap to fall into. Take the time to consider families and couples who will attend your wedding together and do not need duplicate invitations. But be sure to order a few extras as it will always be cheaper to add a few extras now rather than having them reprinted later
💌Start Early - Remember your guests also need time to plan and work with your dates, ideally your Save the Date cards should go out 8-10 months before your wedding. This will give your guests plenty of time to take time off from work, book flights and find affordable accomodation. Follow up to your Save the Date cards by sending out your formal invitations 8-12 weeks before your big day.
💌Invitations addressed - this will save your ample time and stress. Your Save the Date, RSVP and Thank You cards can all be addressed for you and will probably be the most time saving option given to you throughout the entire wedding planning process.

We would like to take a moment today to discuss the perks of hiring a wedding planner to help you arrange your special day ✨

✨Budget Planning; Planners will be able to stretch your budget because they know what aspects of your big day to focus on
✨Bring your Vision to Life; Planners take on the more tedious tasks ie. legal aspects and obtaining permits. While other vendors may be working multiple events at once your planner will be dedicated to your event and fight for the things you want

Wedding Inspo Wednesday 💍

Welcome back to Wedding Inspo Wednesdays with Essex Lakehouse! It’s time to talk about a crucial decision in the wedding planning process. THE MUSIC! 🎶
Deciding between having a live band play at your wedding versus hiring a DJ can be tricky especially since there is no right or wrong answer. It all boils down to one’s personal preference, space, number of guests and your budget.
Here are some pointers to consider;

🎵Vibe – the way music is played at your wedding will set the vibe and atmosphere for the entire evening. It is important to choose genres that are best suited for both the bride and groom, that reflects their personalities. It is important to note that a DJ has more versatility with the type of music they can deliver and surf through different genres, whereas live bands are best at delivering big band sounds and groove-worthy songs.

🎵Budget – this plays a large role in what you ultimately decide, a DJ will generally cost less on an hourly basis compared to a live band simply due to the nature of the act. With a live band you are paying for each musician in the band and their talent. Therefore, the larger the band and more instruments they play the higher the cost will be.

🎵Personality – It is important to understand the DJ’s/live band’s personality, you are hiring these musicians for their talent. An important part of entertaining is the ability for the entertainer to guide the party, being able to lead the ceremonies and then swiftly move the guests over into their dancing shoes. It is an important factor to consider when deciding exactly who you would like to play at your wedding.

🎵Venue Suggestions – Always consider the venue before finalizing your decision, they may be able to help guide you especially if the venue has some restrictions.

Welcome back my lovlies ❤️This week on Wedding Inspo Wednesday we thought lets talk about CAKE!
Who doesn't love cake, especially wedding cake? Picking the right cake for your special day is a very important detail on your list. We managed to do some research for you and break down some important steps to follow when picking your wedding cake.

🧁Tasting: Be sure to take the time to meet with your bakery for a tasting, getting to know your baker and selecting the right one allows for your vision to come to life. Meeting with the baker will help you to understand their abilities better and set your expectations accordingly.
🧁Finalize your Guest List: The number of guests attending your wedding will help to estimate the number of tiers needed. Also consider the venue, a venue with high ceilings you may want to consider adding columns to create more height.
🧁Frosting: Buttercream vs. Fondant ... buttercream is far more delicious however fondant gives you a more flawless appearance. Consider adding buttercream and then fondant to blend the pros of both
🧁Consider the Weather: Weddings that are held outdoor should consider the weather, buttercream, whipped cream and meringue will not do well in hot and huconditionstons. Coating the cake in fondant will help protect the cake from the elements
🧁Cake Topper: The classic figurine is always a popular choice however in recent years couples have decided to tailor it more towards their relationship. Be sure to pick a topper that represents your new union and love for one another
🧁Delivery: Lots of coordination is required for the delivery of the cake, larger and more complex cakes may be delivered in multiple pieces and assembled on site. Be sure to designate some space if your bakers need some space and time to set it up for you.

Welcome back to Wedding Inspo Wednesday! 🌷
I want to take the time to discuss intimate weddings and how you can plan the perfect wedding with your loved ones.
Your wedding is about celebrating you and your fiancé as you enter a brand new chapter in your lives, what better way to ring in the new phase than to be surrounded by your dearest family members and friends. We have done a little bit of research to help you think of some different ideas as to how you can have your dream intimate wedding.

🌷Eloping sometimes has a negative sound to it but it doesn’t have to be that way. When eloping you can take whomever you like with you – family, friends or a mix of both – to celebrate that special moment. All those emotions become concentrated in the moment and amongst those few special individuals, a feeling that a larger wedding would dilute. Stepping outside of your hometown or province gives you the ability to combine both the honeymoon and wedding together for more privacy and adventure.

Welcome back to our weekly Wedding Inspo Wednesday series! Today we want to quickly go through some helpful pointers when it comes to saying yes to the dress!
The process is tough, so many options and opinions from loved ones that often the bride can become overwhelmed. But not to worry we've broken down some easy steps to follow to make sure you get the dress of your dreams.

💍Identify your style! Knowing what kind of style you want will help make the process more smooth. Of course liking a particular style is different than when you try the dress on in real life, however it gives you a solid foundation to start with.

💍Be sure to set a budget for you dress, this will allow you to find a piece that you will love without breaking the bank.

💍Know exactly who to bring with you when you go dress shopping. You want to be surrounded by people who will give you their honest opinion and help you find the right dress. This decision will determine whether your shopping experience is a good one or a bad one. Try to limit your squad to 2-3 people, having too many opinions can become overwhelming.

💍Dressing up to go shopping can really help the process along. Of course dressing comfortably is important, however having your hair and makeup done will help give you and you squad a better idea of which dress suits your style.

💍It is best to start shopping for your dress 10-12 months in advance. By starting earlier you give yourself the gift of time for any alterations and deliveries. Be sure to have your order in 6 months in advance to allow for any delays.
