I brought my sewing room with with me on my adventures of babysitting. (Watching my sister’s kids). I found this project notebook so naturally I needed to make a cover for it. Trust yourself and just make sh*t up till it works. AND…you can sew anywhere. I’m avoiding the binding I brought with me to do, this is the perfect way to avoid it.

Lucey has been busy. Check out this cute bowtie scrappy quilt. 1.5 inch squares. The panto is lateral by can’t wait to get this one finished for another happy quilter.

Fabric storage…I like to keep fabric in their respective places. BINS is my preferred way. I saw a gal that kept it to an ikea billy book shelve and I must say that’s been my goal. I purge/donate often. I’m not a person that shops with the trends. I do wonder how you can see as fast as the trends change, I’ve been thinking about that a lot.

I’m weird and I like weird combos. But sometimes weird changes and I’m okay with that. It’s not a perfect system but it’s a system. I have a small space to work with or I would be swimming in fabric. Happy fabric storage day.

Day 8 Scrappy Quilt.
This by far was the scrappiest quilt to date. The pieces of this puff quilt was yoinked from mostly pieces from my mother’s stash and my own to be fair.
I have been asked multiple times if I would make another one. I’m not sure I would. Maybe for the right person and the right price. 😬🫣

I missed day 6 Charity Quilts.
My favourite way to give is to my mother in law {my second one} She helps in a very busy guild here in HR. I give her all my scraps. I go through my stash regularly. The ladies are very good at repurposing and making some beautiful quilts.

Day 7 Lessons Learned. This was my first serious quilt. Well I thought I was serious. It took me a couple years to get it together. And after I had everything sewn together my mother stops by and says “don’t you have a 1/4” seem allowance foot for your machine”…I was dumb founded that she had not gifted this knowledge to me YEARS prior. It was not perfect. ~ I also had my own thoughts on colours and longarming. Definitely lessons learned on this process. I also don’t mind longarming for charities when asked.

Day 2 is #firstquilt it was in 2016 I thought I would attempt a full size quilt. I’m happy to report my piecing skills have much improved since then as well as my longarm skills.
