Our oceanfront cottage in Nova Scotia is being listed in June. We’re simplifying our lives and downsizing. Approximately one half of the 15 acre property with 1,800’ of oceanfront will be sold together with the 3,000 square foot, five bedroom, four bath year round house. We are keeping the remaining half of the property.

We have divided the house into two units. The upper two floor unit with three bedrooms and two full baths has been rented on Vrbo. The lower garden level unit with two bedrooms and two full baths is maintained for our use. It can easily be used as a single family house.

This property is situated on the west coast of Cape Breton Island with unobstructed ocean views and spectacular sunsets. The privacy is unparalleled. This coast has become the summer home of internationally known artists, actors and musicians. The #10 rated golf course in the world is nearby as well as several beautiful sand beaches with the warmest waters north of the Carolinas.

ANOTHER FIVE-STAR REVIEW!! (FROM VRBO) *****

Kevin was extremely quick with all communication and very helpful with local logistics information. The home was very nicely decorated, clean and stocked with all kitchen needs, including olive oil and spices. They gifted us with some lovely coffee and a bottle of wine and homemade jam! Our bed and bedding were comfy and the upstairs new shower was a treat. Sitting on the large deck, having coffee while watching for wildlife panning the ocean vista was an inspiring experience. We are hoping to come back! Oh, we also found the location of the house on the Cabot Trail was perfect for doing all of the hiking and exploring we set out to do! All Lovely, really 🙂

A perfect place to stay if you want to explore the area in the day and relax at night. We enjoyed Whale Cove Beach each day and came back for a nice meal and great views of the sunset. We were 6 adults and 3 babies and we had lots of room.

Don’t hesitate to book this property! Truly a very special place with jaw-dropping views of the water and the coastline. Very private. Fully stocked house with everything you can possibly need. Very clean. Sandy, picturesque beach (best we’ve seen in Cape Breton) is 2 minutes away. The Skyline trail is some 30 minutes away. Owner is very responsive. One of the best rentals I’ve been to!

This cottage and property were amazing! It is a very private location right on the water, where you can watch osprey, hawks, sea birds and bald eagles. We saw the most beautiful sunsets while there! The cottage itself has everything you would ever need and more. The owner is obviously very thoughtful and was readily available to answer questions or provide advice on the area. The cottage was spotless and had the most amazing bedding, pillows and towels. Nothing was overlooked! The kitchen is massive and is a wonderful gathering area. We have no complaints whatsoever and would not hesitate to book this property again. It's proximity to beautiful towns, great seafood, the National Park and Cabot Cliffs golf course is ideal. When we return to Cape Breton, this will be the first place we will reserve! A huge thanks to Kevin!!!

"Kevin was a wonderful host. A great time was had by all. Check-in was a breeze and we were greeted with a nice welcome gift basket. The house has a wonderful setting and beautiful views all around. Everything we needed was supplied by the host from the barbeque and kitchen supplies for cooking, to beach towels and toiletries. We enjoyed grilling and hanging out on the deck in the afternoons cooking dinner and watching the gorgeous sunsets after our rounds at Cabot Links. We even took a swim at the nearby beach one afternoon. This was definitely a trip we'll all remember for a lifetime. Very welcoming and comfortable house made for a great place to stay and just chill out. The house overlooks the coastline with great views from the deck, an added plus are the finches and other birds in the backyard. The house is well-laid out and has a fully-stocked, large kitchen with a lot of thoughtful extras such as Tupperware and totes for picnics and starter coffee and wine to welcome guests. Tasteful beach chic decor, and all bedrooms are good sized with very comfy beds. We loved the location because it was central to so many outside activities...beaches are nearby, fishing on the Margaree is 15 minutes down the road, golf at Cabot Links is 20 minutes south and Cheticamp and the park is 20 minutes north. We hated to leave the house and Cape Breton! Highly recommend.
