This shot brings back so many memories and excitement from a trip we did last winter. Trying to capture moments and visuals like this while backcountry is not easy. There’s no resetting to get that perfect shot. You only have one chance to get it but when you get it… there is no better feeling and it makes carrying the extra lbs for days worth every horrible, painful minute!
Oh, and we celebrated @speysimplicity ‘s 50th at camp just after this and enjoyed the ice cold @bigspruce carried for two days just for that moment.

A little over a month ago a small group of us decided to head out and hike the proposed Seawall Trail route before heading to Kejimkujik directly after for a 7-day back country trip. The idea was simple: knock off the rust accumulated from 3 months of beach days and campfire beverages 🍻. Our planned route, which saw us exit via Grey’s Hallow, got cut due to time constraints however, we managed to film a bit of this trip and cut it into a little video called:
