A cute three-season two-bedroom cottage, perfect for mature couples and families to enjoy, offers a spectacular view of Whitefish Rapids on the beautiful Mississippi River. Nestled right on the water's edge of premier Lake Kashwakamak, this half acre property and 800 sq ft house are located on the most serene and secluded waterfront of the lake. Close proximity to groceries, restaurants, shopping
and golfing in the neighbouring towns of Cloyne, Northbrook, Plevna, and Kaladar. Enjoy all the comforts of home:

Cottage is equipped with: 1 queen bed in master bedroom, double/twin bunk-beds in room #2 with a pull-out trundle, 4 twin bunk-beds in bunk-house. The cottage draws clean water from the lake (a water-cooler with fresh water is provided for cooking and drinking). Smoking outside is allowed, but you MUST put your cigarette butts in the garbage. Please also clean-up after your cats and dogs. We must do our best to respect the environment and be as eco-friendly as possible. Kashwakamak Lake is one of the cleanest and largest lakes in the region (over 15km long); take advantage of the great swimming, fishing, and boating the lake has to offer. Explore other lakes and towns along the Mississippi River system. This cottage is conveniently located not far off highway 41 at the halfway point between Toronto and Ottawa, 90 minutes North of Kingston, 3 hours NE of Toronto and two hours West of Ottawa. A great place for families to congregate; or a quiet, romantic getaway for couples. Cloyne: 12min North on Hwy 41
Cloyne is a small village offering a number of services for residents and cottagers. There are a number of small shops, providing townspeople and visitors access to groceries, antiques, chainsaw carvings, hardware supplies, gas, and fishing gear. Cloyne is also home to the North Addington Education Centre and a Pioneer Museum. The northern end of the village features an oversized wooden white lawnchair, which is able to comfortably seat well over a dozen people for photograph opportunities.

Kaladar: 24min South on Hwy 41
Kaladar was first settled following the construction of the Addington Road in 1857. It was originally named Scouten after its first postmaster. The old CPR rail bed passing through town has become part of the Trans Canada Trail.

Plevna: 30min East on County Road 506
Plevna village dates back to the 1860s at the junction of the Mississippi Road, Frontenac Road and Snow Road colonziation roads and it still retains its small-town Ontario charm. Amenities found in Plevna include a grocery store, liquor store, restaurant, hardware store and a miniature golf site. Plevna also hosts a United Church and an Anglican Church (both historic buildings).

Fishing enthusiasts will be happy to know that Kashwakamak Lake offers some of the best fishing in the cleanest waters in all of Ontario. The lake is home to many species of fish including Walleye, Northern Pike, Large and Smallmouth Bass, Yellow Perch, Rock Bass, Whitefish and more! The fishing off our dock is fantastic, but if you'd like to explore some of the many other fishing spots on the lake, you may choose to rent a motor boat from Smart's Marina (there's also a boat launch just up the road).

Hiking and Cycling Trails:
The area offers many hiking and cycling trails for both the novice and experienced adventurer.
- The Abbes and Essens trail features three loops; one of 4, 9 and 17 km. You could even make this an overnight hike and camp at one of the five campsites along the trail!
- Bon Echo Creek Trail follows Bon Echo Creek to where it enters lower Mazinaw Lake. Long a favourite destination for painters and photographers.
- Shield Trail follows a section of the old Addington settlement road and penetrates the rugged landscape of the Canadian Shield.

Bon Echo Provincial Park: 36min North of Cloyne on Hwy 41
Bon Echo in Lennox & Addington County has long been a favourite destination for painters and photographers. One of the most beautiful of Ontario's Provincial Parks, the focal point of Bon Echo is Mazinaw Rock.
