Unfortunately, the road was pure dust, the soft powdery stuff, some places a foot deep. Went 10 km with hope then quickly turned back nonstop with a typhoon dust cloud on my tail. 😊

Memories of Ecuador ❤️

In Ecuador at night clubs, I had men asking me to dance with their wives saying, "If I could only dance what you have forgotten." I've walked by restaurants where the owners invited me and my girlfriend in for a complete meal, and when I offered to pay they've said, "No, what you have shared in conversation is more than enough." While driving my scooter by a coastal town with Amelie on the back , a store owner came out as we were looking at his merchandise on the street, opened up two fresh, cold bottles of beer, and as he gave them to us said, "Thank you for coming to my country," 👍 raising his to cheers us, and walked back into his store.

When riding our bicycles down the Eastern Andes to the Amazon, people in their vehicles roll down their windows to wave hello, to compliment my short shorts, and when we had a flat on the highway, lifted our scooter in the back of their truck and with big smiles dropped us off at the tire shop ... No Fee. More than once 😆.

In Patate, a community in the eastern Andes, Amelie and I walked beside a parade, they have parades weekly somewhere, to get some video of the guys playing drums, and the teenage girls swinging their long black hair and marching to the rhythms. When we walked by the stand with the mayor and council, and significant pretty community members, they stood up for us and clapped, waving at us.

Meanwhile in Canada, I do an 18 km bike ride in the heart of Kamloops, wave and smile, and no one even nods. ❤️

🤔 Imagine what it's going to be like as I age, in a cold, grey climate. 😊

Anybody wanna come over for steaks and beer?😀
