This historic rail trail offers a unique way to experience the beauty of Canada’s outdoors. The round trip is approximately 90 minutes.
The Vintage Coach is wheelchair accessible BUT the maximum width is 25". My Permobil power wheelchair's width is 26", so we sat in Open Air - MuCulloch Car. I've labeled the two best Open Air wheelchair accessible spots.

Camping near Golden, BC. My 6' aluminum foldable wheelchair ramp made easy work of the steps into my friend's cabin, and his generator charged my power wheelchair, two ventilators, suction machine, and food pump overnight. Grateful for accessibility solutions that let me enjoy these moments with friends.
We decided to do a day trip Cozumel. Absolutely beautiful! Even though the ferry is accessible, there is one giant step at the top of the ramp to board. Four Ultramar crew members awkwardly carried me and my wheelchair over the threshold. It's a little sketchy!
Last summer we rented an Airbnb near 5th Ave in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. Playa has become quite wheelchair accessible with lots of activities including Coco Bongo and the 3D Museum of Wonders.
My ventilator keeps overheating when sailing. This time we installed a battery-powered PC fan on the back of the ventilator and wrapped the ventilator (everywhere except the air intake) in mylar. It worked great!

We had an amazing time at the Bass Coast Festival in Merritt, BC!
Accessibility at the festival was top-notch with accessible camping that included shared electricity, accessible outhouses, and elevated viewing platforms at three of the five stages. All staff were extremely accommodating and responsive to my medical needs.
I'm too high maintenance to camp these days, so we stayed at the Kings Inn. They provided a makeshift ramp that worked surprisingly well! I couldn't access the washroom, but the two bedrooms and living room were clean and quite spacious. Not bad for a non-accessible room.
I love sailing! Thank you Symphony, Tracy, and AbleSail Okanagan for making this possible. Also, a huge thank you ATMakers to for building and programming the custom control box allowing me to sail using only my thumbs!

It's true… I'm a Bobblehead! This year, we created a custom velcro headband that secures my head to the wheelchair headrest. This will be a game changer for outdoor music festivals!
I love the Okanagan in the summer! We started out at Ribfest at City Park in Kelowna. Simply delicious. Met some really nice vendors including Brutal Condiments. I'm a huge fan of their ghost pepper sauce. To end the night, we checked out Midnight Kings ho**ah lounge. It's accessible and worth checking out.
Started out the Canada Day long weekend by checking out PINEO & LOEB at Tonics Pub & Grill in Kelowna. This DJ duo were one of my favs at Shambhala 2022 and never disappoint. Tonics has a level entry and friendly staff. Be sure to have a bite to eat and check out the ceiling!

Mérida, the vibrant capital of the Mexican state of Yucatán, offers a rich cultural experience with a warm and welcoming community. This weekend I treated my mom to a dance and burlesque Femme Fatale Dance 10th anniversary showcase at Revelry Food+Music Hub! These talented local dancers and performers from the Okanagan lit up the stage. Revelry is currently my favourite accessible music venue in Kelowna! Level entry, accessible washroom, elevator to the upstairs, etc.
The Bianca Del Rio at the Kelowna Community Theatre was hilarious! The theatre has six wheelchair accessible seats with six companion seats located in row Z. "One washroom is wheelchair accessible and designated as all user."
