Recently, Just Go! Girls spent some time on the Isle of Portland and in the resort town of Weymouth, in the county of Dorset, England.

As we made our way in to town, we were able to admire the quaint cottages and take in the wonderful seaside at Chesil Beach - a barrier beach that joins Portland with mainland England.

Highlights included mingling and chatting with the locals, strolling the beachside Esplanade at Weymouth Beach (on a gloriously warm and sunny day in the mid 20's!), watching some crabbing happening at the Weymouth Town Bridge, and meandering along St. Mary's, St. Thomas and Bond streets. We had a great time perusing all the charming antique stores and charity shops along the way. And, it was a treat to shop Marks and Spencer, purchase some sea treasures at Fossil Beach, and bring home some unique T-shirts from the Bonmarche.

Along the way, we couldn't resist a hot, fresh Cornish Pasty at the Bakehouse. And, who could possibly restrain themselves from enjoying the tempting fare of British Fish 'N Chips seaside? For that, we highly recommend the Old Harbour!

At the end of summer 2023, Just Go! Girls enjoyed a wonderful trip to Amsterdam.

Staying centrally located, we were less than 2 minutes away from access to trains, Hop-On Hop Off buses and canal boats. We sure had a blast! The Breakfast Buffet was amazing at the IBIS Amsterdam Central that included the best dutch cheeses and meats and incredible array of homemade baking including breads, pastries, and croissants.

We were able to take in the colorful busy streets filled of tourists and oodles restaurants, shops, and pubs on foot from our hotel! We enjoyed our fresh seafood meals and Heinekens at The Grasshopper and shopped the cool stores Kalverstraat and Leidsestraat, strolling along while we munched on delightful cones of fresh, hot Amsterdam fries (but be prepared for the line-ups for those fries!).

We had lots of fun partaking in a pre-arranged small-group guided walking tour of The Red Light District and thoroughly indulged in a fantastic meal at China Si Chuan in Zeedijk.

Our favorite thing by far, though, was sailing on the canals - day or night! The canal boat tours were so relaxing and beautiful weather in the mid 20's was a bonus! Round trip around the city-center of Amsterdam via the Hop On Hop Off Bus takes 1 hour, but by Hop On Hop Off Canal Boat takes 2 hours. Even though the canal option is slower, it is so much more enjoyable and much gives a much quieter and prettier view of the city. A highlight stop by bus or boat was a visit to Gassan Diamonds. To have the opportunity to view the Gassan 121 Diamond (64 facets more than a regular diamond) was a thrill as it certainly is THE diamond among the diamonds!

We loved exploring the Prinsengracht Disrict and highly recommend taking in an evening canal cruise on the Blue Boats! Amsterdam is gorgeous by night with the twinkling lights at sunset. And, we can't recommend the Aran Irish Pub enough - a lovely place to dine inside or out for quick refreshments and meals and a very friendly staff - located conveniently a few steps away from the Blue Boat Tours.

Of course, we took in ALL of Anne Frank's House. We were up-to-date on the history of Anne Frank after just watching A Small Light on National Geographic channel. We spent hours on our own in the Van Gogh Museum (Note: Vincent was a crazy genius! He painted almost 900 paintings in 10 years!) And, we appreciated our small-group tour to see the Dutch Masters in the Rijksmuseum. (Note: Rembrandt's Night Watch took 5 years to complete!) The Museumplein was delightful as well as we lucked out on a warm sunny afternoon to stroll the gardens, restaurants, and shops.

At night, after a full day of touring, we were quite happy to ease back into the comfort of the IBIS lounge to enjoy an end-of-the-day cocktail. Their specialty was a Tulip Spritzer -delicious and visually stunning!

Also, hats off to the IBIS for the exquisite fresh flower arrangements provided on the daily!

2024 - MOROCCO!

We can't wait to get a taste of Tangier! We are looking forward to immersing ourselves in the storied history and geological beauty of Tangier on a visit to the area’s most iconic sites, including a couple of extraordinary natural landmarks and a bustling marketplace!

We will take an air-conditioned ride through a California-style residential area, and ride through the picturesque landscapes of the Rif Mountains to Cape Spartel, a promontory located at the Strait of Gibraltar where we can enjoy panoramic views of the ocean from an elevation of 1,000 feet and admire the lighthouse perched on the end of the cape.

After, we will continue to the famous Caves of Hercules, where legend states it was within these caves that the famed Greek hero took his last breath after separating Gibraltar from Africa. we will savor the chance to connect with mythology, as we explore these magnificent caves and marvel at the beautiful rock formations.

Next, returning to Tangier to discover its medina (old town), where we set out on a comprehensive guided walk through one of the city's most historic and architecturally interesting areas. We will stroll through the maze of streets and souks (markets), stopping to admire the beautiful Moroccan handicrafts and perhaps barter for an unforgettable souvenir.

And, we can't wait to visit the nearby Kasbah Museum and admire its traditional courtyard, along with the large mosaic artworks, before finishing our journey at one of the oldest hotels in the city, the Hotel Continental, where we will be greeted by some Moroccan hospitality and enjoy a traditional pastry and refreshments.

2024! We can’t wait to visit the Spanish Riviera! Marbella, here we come!

Marbella is a city and resort area on southern Spain’s Costa del Sol, part of the Andalusia region. The Sierra Blanca Mountains are the backdrop to 27 km of sandy Mediterranean beaches, villas, hotels, and golf courses. West of Marbella town, the Golden Mile of prestigious nightclubs and coastal estates leads to Puerto Banús marina, filled with luxury yachts, and surrounded by upmarket boutiques and bars.

CORK (COBH), IRELAND 2023!

We are looking forward to falling under the spell of Blarney Castle this fall!

Blarney Castle - a romantic ruin that dates back to 1446. Built by Cormac MacCarthy, a great Irish chieftan of old, it features 18-foot thick stone walls and is surrounded by lovely gardens.

Myth and mystery surround the Gothic castle and grounds. The Irish pride themselves on their remarkable storytelling: hear the legends, folklore and fable of Blarney Castle and this beguiling part of Ireland en route to the venues.

We are excited to climb to the top of the castle to enjoy the panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. And may join the line to kiss the famous Blarney Stone and be granted the eternal gift of eloquence!

And how could we not shop? We are excited to visit the Blarney Woollen Mills, established in 1823, where we will indeed browse for high-quality Irish goods, including sweaters, hats, jewelry, linens, crystal, and more.❤️

We can't wait to see Portland, Dorset, UK in 2023!

Landing at this huge 19th-century harbor in Southern England, originally constructed for the Royal Navy, puts us within a few hours of countless world-renowned icons, including those of London. The town sits on a tiny peninsula jutting into the English Channel. At the tip is Portland Bill, with three lighthouses. Two 18th-century towers have been converted into holiday apartments and a birdwatching center. The 1906 lighthouse, painted red and white, invites us to climb its 153 steps to the top!

Today a tourist economy centers on its picturesque old harbor, the site of lovely pubs, cafés, and restaurants. We will hoist a pint and try the fish and chips as we stroll around this vibrant harbor enjoying one of life's simple pleasures!

Wow! Are we looking forward to 2023....

We can't wait to explore Amsterdam, the beautiful capital of the Netherlands!

Amsterdam has the wonderful atmosphere of a 17th-century city combined with the contemporary character of a modern metropolis. It is a treasure chest of superb architecture and is famous for its canals and extraordinary museums.

Once we arrive, we will be sure to catch the city’s highlights, especially the iconic houses that straddle the snaking canal system of which the city is known for.

When in Amsterdam, we will do as the Dutch and discover this first-class city - perhaps on two wheels as this is one of the most bike-friendly places on the planet! When it comes to viewing the world’s great artistic masterpieces, we will certainly be visiting the Dutch Masters at the Rijksmuseum and the famous Van Gogh Museum to ponder the works of Holland’s favorite son.

Between popping into cozy cafes, sipping a Heineken in charming taverns, sneaking a peek in the secret annex of Anne Frank's house, and strolling through a plethora of gorgeous boutiques, we look forward to enjoying beautiful evenings complete with a candlelight dinner cruise on the canals of Amsterdam. WE can't wait to let the charms of this city wash over us. ❤️

We have traveled the entire Pacific Coast from British Columbia to Mexico, ventured through the Tuscan region and Amalfi Coast of Italy, marveled at the beauty of Sedona and the Grand Canyon, and tasted the best Californian wines Napa Valley has to offer. We have enjoyed incredible cities in-depth such as London, New York, Boston, Quebec City, Paris, Rome, Barcelona, Lisbon, Vancouver, Los Angeles, San Diego, Las Vegas, Houston, Palm Springs, Miami, Phoenix/Scottsdale, and Tucson. In 2018, we sailed the Panama Canal - 2 oceans and a whole lot of fun in between as we explored Guatemala, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, and the Florida Keys. 2019 took us to London again (for amazing shopping, dining, history, and culture), then touring and spending time in the quaint and charming Cotswolds. From there we set off once more to visit the Baltics and all the wonders of St. Petersburg, Russia.

Due to Covid -19, we are missing out on 2020/21 travel fun, but the spring of 2022 has us heading to Paris (what gal doesn't enjoy Paris?) and then off to Poland. And, in the fall of 2022, we are off to see the best of Singapore, Vietnam, and Thailand.
