Three of these deluxe resorts, Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, and Disney's Contemporary Resort, are located on the monorail line. This connects them to Magic Kingdom (and, with a transfer, Epcot). You can also walk from these hotels to Magic Kingdom.

Three of these deluxe resorts, Disney's Boardwalk Inn, Disney's Yacht Club Resort, and Disney's Beach Club Resort, are located around the Boardwalk, between Hollywood Studios and Epcot, with boat and walking access to both parks.

The two remaining deluxe resorts have more limited transportation to the parks. Disney's Wilderness Lodge is located near Magic Kingdom, but not on the monorail line (walking is also not an option), though a boat to Magic Kingdom is offered. Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is located next to Animal Kingdom, but has no special transportation to that park, aside from the regular bus route.

Unlike value and moderate resorts, deluxe resorts tend to have many restaurants on their property for table service meals. Many of the best restaurants, including several character dining options, at Walt Disney World are located within the deluxe hotels. Fan favorites include Sanaa at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, Storybook Dining at Artist Point at Disney's Wilderness Lodge, and Victoria & Albert’s at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa.

Having these restaurants right at your hotel means you can schedule an early breakfast or late dinner and not have to deal with additional transportation.

Over the years I have shared many Magical Memories from Walt Disney World. These tend to come when you least expect it while visiting and can range from small, sentimental surprises to bigger, more monumental moments.

On our last trip in December of 2022, we found ourselves in line at Prince Charming Regal Carrousel while waiting for some family members to return to Magic Kingdom from a short break back at the resort. Infront of us a young girl, maybe 2 or 3 was playing with a bubble wand and her little sister (who was maybe 3 or 4 months old) was watching. The father of the girls overheard my husband and twin boys in a typical debate amongst themselves; these moments are quite frequent in our house, the sky is always different colours to everyone. This time though, they were debating if water is "wet." After a bit of back and forth, with each of their supporting statements, the father of the young girls chimed in and said he agreed with one, that water is not wet. In the meantime, the mother and I had struck up a conversation about how silly such a debate seemed and watched our girls play together (Tenley had joined in popping bubbles with their daughter). The boys finished up and agreed to disagree as we got onto the Carrousel for our turn to ride. After the ride, we did not see that family again for the rest of the evening.

The following morning, we were up early and waiting to enter Disney's Animal Kingdom for our final park day, when someone walked up behind our party and said "you know, water isn't actually wet." When we turned around, the father of the young girls stood there, in his Disney Parks Security uniform getting ready to start his day at work. It gave us all a little giggle and we were surprised he remembered us and our "debate" from the evening before, but it will always be one of those small Magical Memories we keep as a family from that trip to Walt Disney World.

Typically only found at Disney's Port Orleans French Quarter, these sweet treats from the bayou of Louisiana will be joining the fare at Golden Oak Outpost as Tiana's Bayou Adventure opens in Frontierland in Disney's Magic Kingdom.
