Creatively it’s my dream opportunity to dig in and curate a collection of jewels to match a narrative developed by the artistic vision of another. To be part of a team, out of the studio...and into a group of “imaginatives” ready to all do what they love. This day was absolutely a day of appreciation. What the..?? Introduced to us by our kids, these are 'fidget spinners'. A simple no-batteries-required toy said to effectively offer kids the opportunity to unplug from screens (fingers crossed on that!). Simply pinch the center between two fingers (or a thumb) and give it a spin. Behaviour specialists have been using fidget type tools for years to help patients with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity, Autism, and Anxiety related conditions. The belief is that the motor activity generated by these activities keeps people from fidgeting and better control their attention. Although we are sure the debate will be out on there intended effectiveness & value, it is a pretty interesting little toy if nothing else (with no screen 😉).
