Is it October, or second summer? โ๏ธ
We're loving the gorgeous weather; 20 degrees all week! Get out on the water and spend an afternoon sailing through the islands. The Island Queen departs daily at 12pm noon: www.ktic.ca/reserve
360 VR: Take a Cruise on the Island Queen
Last week we sailed to the Islands for one last shakedown cruise before the Island Queen heads to the inner harbour for a well-deserved winter nap. We'll be cruising again before you know it: you can sign up at www.ktic.ca/signup to be the first to know when Spring-Summer 2021 events are available to book.
In the meantime, click or tap and drag around this 360 video to join us for a virtual view of last week's last cruise. We captured a beautiful fall day; look at that smile on Captain Steels' face!
This summer you can dine dockside in the heart of downtown Kingston. The glass-topped Island Star is serving a $35 prix-fixe meal with your choice of entree, at dock in Confederation Park, across from City Hall.

Boats Return to Dock this Spring
Our sightseeing ships are back on dock as of this morning! ๐
Captain Steels took advantage of the beautiful spring weather to reposition the Island Queen, Island Belle, and Island Star at Crawford Wharf downtown. It was a moment of optimism for the summer ahead here in Kingston - it will be different from the summer we anticipated, but weโre optimistically planning for new ways to spend it together.
If provincial restrictions are lifted before the end of June, our skilled and professional marine and hospitality crews are planning to be ready for July 1st. Resuming our tours will come with comprehensive new safety procedures, thorough cleaning and sanitization protocols, and a thoughtful approach to distancing in all of our indoor and outdoor spaces.
The safety and well-being of our guests and crew is always our first priority. When the time is right to resume sailing in the 1000 Islands, our ships will be a safe place for you and your family to spend time together. More details and our full statement on Covid-19 are available at www.ktic.ca/cv
Seeing the ships back on the dock was a great moment for us today and weโre glad to be sharing it with you. Weโre grateful for all the support our #ygk and #1000islands community has shown us these past few months, and weโre looking forward to seeing you on the river again soon.
#NoiseAtNoon on the Island Queen: raising the flag and sounding our horn for healthcare workers
Today at noon Captain Steels and his crew ran up the flag on the Island Queen and sounded the horn. Along with Kingston Trolley Tours we're participating in #NoiseAtNoon to make a big sound at 12 noon every day in gratitude for the extrordinary work of our healthcare workers, and others on the front lines of the COVID-19 response across Canada and around the world. ๐จ๐ฆ๐
You can join in by clapping, ringing bells, singing and making noise at noon to shout out our community's support.
The inspiration for the message comes from similar movements around the world, where amid the uncertainty of the Coronavirus pandemic, a resilient sense of community has erupted. People in Italy, Spain and France are standing together with song and applause in an effort to boost morale and show support for the healthcare workers fighting Covid-19 on the front lines.
Social-distancing is essential in flattening the curve of infection here in Canada, but it can also feel like an isolating time. Itโs important we retain a strong sense of community here in Kingston.
