Nick's World provides professional education advocacy services for parents in the province of Ontario struggling to find support for their children in our public school system. Nick’s World originated out of the desire to help people in the same situation as my family and out of the need to be at home with my son. The company logo is designed with the picture of the earth flipped upside down, beca
use that is how Nick often sees his world when his senses are overloaded or when things don’t go his way. Nick was born in 2007. In 2014 he was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. We always knew that something was different with Nick but it took almost 7 years for our concerns to be truly heard. Over the years, we have struggled with the school system, finding the right supports and sourcing out the proper tools to help him have an easier and more enjoyable life. Through my search for sensory products, I discovered the only source appeared to be online. This came as a disappointment because I prefer to see and feel the products before I buy them. So I decided to open a home business selling a couple main special needs items so that local parents and caregivers could have a more personal experience purchasing specialized items for their children. My hope is that Nick’s World will make purchasing special needs products like weighted blankets easier for parents and caregivers in Waterloo Region and that they may find comfort in knowing they are buying from someone who has and is going through similar struggles. I also hope that those visiting this site will find useful information through my Links page. Thanks for visiting and I look forward to meeting you and your child!
