September 30th has officially been recognized as “National Day for Truth and Reconciliation” in Canada. It is also known as “Orange Shirt Day”. We honor this day to support the Indigenous Residential School Reconciliation; to create support and awareness of the individual, family, and community inter-generational impacts of residential schools. It’s a day to honor those who survived, and those who did not return through such movements as the “Every Child Matters” and the “Orange Shirt Day”.
