The Governments of Canada and Ontario are investing up to $12 million in market development efforts under the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership (Sustainable CAP) to help eligible agri-food businesses and industry organizations expand into domestic and foreign markets.
The Grow Ontario Market Initiative is a new, cost-share initiative that helps food and beverage processors, farm businesses and agri-food sector organizations take actions to reach new markets. Examples of eligible projects could include:

The Spa Date is a full service spa located in Kilworth, Ontario. They offer haircare, massage therapy, manicures, pedicures, waxing and facials. In 2013, Maija Toole first opened The Spa Date in her home, offering a perfect blend of family life and a growing clientele. This home-based spa quickly gained popularity, becoming a sanctuary for personal attention and relaxation.
Fast forward six years, and the increasing demand for Maija's exceptional services led to an expansion. Understanding the importance of staying within the beloved Kilworth community, Maija moved The Spa Date into a beautifully renovated commercial unit in the Kilworth Business Park on August 10, 2019. Yesterday, our team had the pleasure of attending the ground-breaking ceremony in North Middlesex of the new Parkhill Meats expansion to be completed in 2025. This $2.4 million expansion is a substantial investment into the local agri-food sector.
We would like to congratulate ParkhillMeats and Yaser AlQayem as they take this next step in expanding their business.
It was also great to see the support from local, provincial and federal government officials, and to hear from them what this means for the community.
