This week marks Truth and Reconciliation Week 2024 (Sept 23-27). We invite everyone to explore meaningful ways to learn, reflect, and contribute to reconciliation efforts. 🧡

We acknowledge that the land we stand upon today is the traditional territory of the Attawandaron, Anishinabeg, Haudenosaunee, and Lunaapeewak peoples who have long standing relationships to the land, water and region of Southwestern Ontario. The local First Nation communities of this area include Chippewas of the Thames First Nation, Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation, and Munsee-Delaware Nation.

We acknowledge the treaties that are specific to this area: Treaty 2 (McKee Purchase), Treaty 3 (Between the Lakes Purchase), Treaty 6 (London Township Purchase), Treaty 21 (Long Woods Purchase) and Treaty 29 (Huron Tract Purchase).

We value the significant contributions, both in the past and the present of local and regional first nations of Turtle Island.

We acknowledge historic and ongoing injustices that indigenous peoples endure in Canada and we affirm our commitment to honouring indigenous voices, nations and cultures, and to moving forward in the spirit of reconciliation and respect.

As we approach National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on September 30, consider wearing an orange shirt and joining local Orange Shirt Day activities.

You can also visit Ska-Nah-Doht Village and Museum and discover a recreated village inhabited by the Haudenosaunee along Antler River (or the Thames River) close to 1,000 years ago. 🌸 The forecast is looking great for the next couple of weeks, and the flowers are still in full bloom Arrowwood Farm! 🌞💐 Don’t miss out on the Cut-Your-Own Flower experience before the cooler nights set in. Frost is on the horizon, so come enjoy the flowers while you can! ❄️ Plus, there are just two more Sunset Sensations nights—tonight and next Thursday! 🌅✨

The forecast is looking good for the next couple of weeks and the flowers are still going strong! We’ve reached the point of the season where our time with these flowers is really feeling limited as the next cool night could bring frost 🥶. Our Cut-Your-Own Flower experience will be open until the end of September (next week!) and then we will determine hours based on weather after that.

We have two nights of our Sunset Sensations left tonight, and next Thursday! Tickets include PYO flowers, a beverage and a dessert. This is a great activity for a date night, relaxing evening alone or a fun time with a friend!

Our cut-your-own flower garden is open 8:30-11:30 Thursday, Friday and Saturday for drop-ins. Tickets for our Thursday night Sunset Sensations is on our website https://arrowwoodfarm.ca/product/sunset-sensations/ or call us at 519-289-0389.

Explore their Treemendous Trees exhibit to discover some of the trees native to our region through a unique indoor display featuring Oneida, Munsee, and Anishinaabemowin key words. Learn all about the leaves, bark, and even the scents of these incredible trees! 🍂
