.
In the late 50s and early 60s many of the former European colonies in #Africa became independent countries. It was an exciting time. After centuries of imperialism and exploitation, the African peoples were eager to rule their own destinies. Many of these new countries introduced themselves to the world for the first time at Expo 67.
.
#AfricaPlace was the pavilion designed to house the newly independent nations of Africa. It was designed by John Andrew, who later on became the architect of the CN Tower @cntower.
