Spring is in the air!
May and June are the best times to visit Mitlenatch Island, when wildflowers like blue-eyed Mary, death camas, and chocolate lilies blanket the landscape. As the largest seabird breeding colony in the Salish Sea, the island is alive with activity. Its name, "Mitlenatch," comes from the Coast Salish language, meaning “calm waters all around.” Recognized for its cultural and ecological significance, it was designated a protected reserve in 1961.
This one-of-a-kind island offers more than stunning scenery—it holds stories of nature, history, and culture that we love sharing with our guests.
