My first visit was emotional. Growing up I was a big Terry Fox supporter and fan. Standing there I was overcome by pride, determination, strength and sadness.

44 years ago yesterday, marked the day that Terry Fox was forced to stop his mission to raise awareness and money for Cancer Research by running across Canada. Terry, who had an amputated leg, ran a full marathon every day until his cancer came back and he was physically unable to carry on. He later succumbed to cancer.

He would never know just how many hearts he touched and how much money would be raised in his name over the next 44 years.
