Loving a drug addict or an active alcoholic is the hardest thing you will ever do. Watching someone you love, who has fought so hard to beat addiction, throw everything away and sink back into a life that will most likely lead to jail or death, is one of the hardest things you will ever do. All you wanted was to help them back to a clean and sober life but you realize by doing this, as you have before, will now just be enabling them because it will show them that you will always be there to bail them out. You want to grab and shake them and say "What are you doing?!?!" But, at some point you realize that it wouldn't make a difference. So you sit back and watch the tragedy unfold, as if you are watching a movie. Feeling helpless to stop it, feeling like you haven't done enough to help, even though you know only the addict can help themselves. Having to disconnect yourself from them to save yourself from plunging into the abyss with them. It’s one of the hardest things you will ever experience. You love them from afar and keep praying that they will find their way. Battling a drug and/or an alcohol addiction is a beast for the person addicted and the ones who love them. So l am asking you to stand with me in prayer for every family member and friend who has lost or is losing their battle with drugs and alcohol and those who continue to conquer it!

" The birch is a beautiful cottage with ample space in and around it. The first thing that struck as soon as we got inside was the elegant décor. We were a family of 5 with 3 adults and two teens and we found the well-furnished cottage very comfortable during our stay. My boys also had utilized the ample yard for a game of soccer and badminton. The community is very clean and friendly. The marina is just about 150 meters away and while we did not use a boat, the weather was good enough for lazing on the marina. The process of signing up as well refund of damage deposit was easy with Will being accessible all the time. All in all, a great experience!

This article identifies 2 positions: One of excess in good/services including condos in the GTA and the other of existing (housing) or increasing prices (groceries and services) that still stagnate affordability. These 2 opposites seem to "stabilize" inflationary trends overall. It will be interesting to see what this autumn and winter leading into 2025 has to lead to another forecasted reduction in the BofC basis points. Stay tuned.......

The Bank of Canada today reduced its target for the overnight rate to 4¼%, with the Bank Rate at 4½% and the deposit rate at 4¼%.

Great news! This morning the Bank of Canada lowered its overnight lending rate for the second time this year, bringing the rate down by 25 basis points to 4.5%. Can't use media links so I just put in a statement.

Concerned about a 10,000+ person concert in Muskoka? A group of cottagers have drafted this letter supporting the steps being taken by Mayor Peter Kelley and Council to address public safety, noise and other issues with large outdoor concerts like the ones being planned by the JW Marriott for this summer.
