Welcome to Shanghai, China’s largest city with one of the most recognizable skylines in the world. As Chinas largest city, you can expect anything for delicious Chinese street foods to museums to gardens and more! Start at the The Bund, which somewhat compares to the Freedom Trail in Boston with the layout. It is however a riverside walkway where you can visit city wonders! Visit the Yu Gardens, one of the most simplistic yet recognizable gardens in the world, with unique flowers around every corner! Move to the Pearl Radio and TV Tower, a building you might recognize from the city skyline. You can either sky walk or sightsee, both of which are enjoyable once you notice the view. If you are in the mood for shopping, visit Nanjing Road, arguably the most popular shopping destination in the city. This extensive road covers a large area with amazing local shops serving unique items you can take home. Look up and you’ll see the Shanghai World Financial Center (where you can dine and view one of the largest buildings in the world) and the Jin Mao Tower, with luxury amenities such as a shopping mall! If you want to rekindle a love for classics be sure to visit Shanghai Disneyland, for all things Disney with a unique local twist! If you are in the mood for learning visit one of the city’s amazing museums and science centres such as the Shanghai Museum, the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum, the Shanghai Aquarium, the Shanghai Zoo, and the China Art Museum to learn about Chinas influence on the world in the 21st century. End your visit with a stop at the Jade Buddha Temple, an important temple for Mahayana Buddhists, with 2 jade Buddha statures from Myanmar inside. We can’t forget some street food so grab some before you go, like the soup dumplings, steamed crab, peking duck or braised pork.
Shanghai is a beautiful and historic with so much to see and explore!

Welcome to Chicago, the 3rd largest US city, and the largest in the state of Illinois. Chicago is a city renowned for its arts and entertainment. Chicago has several notable buildings and places to visit. Start at Millenium Park, a giant green space with several amenities including an art gallery, a theatre and even an ice rink! The view of Chicago from here is amazing, and you can see many architectural innovations like the Wrigley Square, the Jay Pritzker Pavillion, the Crown Fountain, the Nichols Bridgeway and the Chase Promenade. Look up to the sky and you can see the Willis Tower! This mega skyscraper has amazing detail, and the largest observation deck in the USA provides amazing views of the city. Head on over to the Navy Pier, located on Lake Michigan. There are over 50 acres of parks, gardens, restaurants and entertainment. The Art Institute of Chicago is one of the most notable art museums in the world, with many unique art exhibits with rare art you couldn't find anywhere! Arguably the most known sculpture in Chicago, the Cloud Gate. Welcome to Bhutan. A unique country tucked away in the Himalayan Mountains and completely surrounded by massive countries like China and India. Their unique government has made Bhutan a carbon negative country, as well as a peaceful, prosperous and happy one. While Bhutan is very small, there is still lots to see! One thing to note before you start is that Bhutan has a completely unique language to the country called Dzongkha. This is fascinating, and something you should know about as there are not many speakers outside Bhutan. Visiting the monasteries and palaces are a must, including the trek to the Paro Taktsang and while it may be hard, you won’t regret it. The cliff side views are beautiful as well as watching the traditions inside. Bhutan is also predominately Buddhist and you may see that as there are lots of monks within the nation. Other major monasteries and palaces to visit include: Punakha Dzong, Tashichho Dzong, Gangtey Monastery, and Drukgyel Dzong. Be sure to check out the Phobjika Valley, a marshland home to many gatherings and celebrations. The fresh air is excellent, as Bhutan has some of the world’s cleanest air! Other sites to visit include the National Museum, the Buddha Dordenma (A massive Buddha statue), Royal Takin Preserve (Wildlife protection zone) and Mount Jitchu (A very beautiful and storied mountain) for a glimpse into Bhutanese culture. Bhutan is a country many haven’t heard of, but it is one many won’t forget after leaving!

One of the smallest and least visited countries in the world, Palau is a beach lovers paradise and if you enjoy the silence of an island except for nature, this is the perfect place for you! With only around 20,000 residents, there aren’t really any major cities or towns, but this is even makes the national spirit stronger. The locals are very friendly people and love their country. As I mentioned earlier, Palau’s nature is astounding, with many underwater treasures to be found, such as Jellyfish Lake (it is exactly as it sounds), diving to see nature and some war artifacts, or activities like swimming in the waterfalls (such as Ngardmau Waterfall or Ngatpang Waterfall) or sea kayaking for some on the water activities. If you don’t love the water, that’s ok! There are other natural activities such as camping or flying on the islands, as well as off-road driving. You can even visit museums such as the Eptison Museum or the Belau National Museum and Bai to learn about Palauan culture and history. You can even pick up a local wood carving from a jail inmate to take home! Palau is a country so untouched it is amazing! However, we should be aware that due to climate change Palau is at risk to sink due to rising sea levels, so check out Palau while you can as this is a gem in the sea!

The old town here in Cartagena is beautiful, as the colonial architecture takes on the Andalusian style of design. Buildings to spot include the Clock Tower, the Convento de la Popa, the Cartagena Cathedral, the Palace of Inquisition, and many more! Aside from its history, Cartagena is also famous for its nightlife. There is a beautiful theatre called the Heredia Theater, where it is now a cultural centre.
