Last night, I had the pleasure of attending a cultural evening hosted by the (Hawai’i Tourism Authority). It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with representatives from various tourism boards and resorts across the islands while enjoying entertainment that truly reflects the vibrant culture of Hawai’i.One of the highlights was speaking with a representative from the island of Maui. Learning about Maui's recovery efforts following the loss of Lahaina was deeply inspiring. The commitment to revitalize tourism there is a testament to the resilience and spirit of the local community.Let’s all contribute to this recovery by planning a visit or stay in Maui for winter 2024/2025! As we bid adieu to the sunny, sandy memories of this summer, it's time to embrace the cool, crisp winds of Fall. 🍂 Summer was a blast, filled with lake hangouts, wine tours, and birthday celebrations, wasn't it?

I had the pleasure of sending off my wonderful clients to the tropical paradise of Turks & Caicos, the magical kingdom of Disney World and the cultural wonderland of Europe. And hey, even managed to sneak in a trip of our own to beautiful Grenada.

Hey there, fellow travelers!

Are your planning to head over to Europe from Canada late this year or next year? If so, there’s something important you need to know about—the new European Entry/Exit System, commonly known as EES.

This new system is set to roll out Nov 10, 2024 and it’s going to change a few things about how we enter and exit European countries in the Schengen Zone.

So, what’s EES all about you ask? Well, it’s essentially a digital system designed to keep track of visitors who aren’t required to have a visa to enter Europe. The main aim is to modernize and strengthen border security across Europe. Think of it as a quicker, more efficient way to process entries and exits, which also boosts safety for everyone.

Here’s what happens when you arrive: Instead of the traditional stamp on your passport, the EES will record your entry and exit digitally. You’ll have your picture taken, provide a fingerprint scan, and answer a few standard questions about your stay. It’s pretty quick and simple.

Now, for Canadians like us, it’s especially important to note that while we don’t need a visa for short trips up to 90 days within a 180-day period, we will need to go through this new EES process. It’s a good idea to maybe arrive a bit earlier at the airport for your first trip under the new system, just to ensure everything goes smoothly.

And that’s pretty much it! A few simple steps and you’re ready to enjoy the stunning landscapes, rich history, and fantastic cultures Europe has to offer.

I’m big on giving credit where it’s due and I have to give a big Thank you to my amazing hubby for supporting me every day to make serving my clients easier.

Doug makes dinner many evenings while I stay in my office after hours to catch up on paperwork and finish up with clients and he also often brings lunch to my desk on the days he works from home to make sure I eat. Once I’m at my desk, time flies as I service my booked clients and book new clients.

Also my new quote/itinerary program with Travefy gets an honorable mention for helping to streamline my quoting, confirmation and edoc process.

Hey pickleball enthusiasts! 🏓🌴 I saw this display this week at the event and thought that since Pickleball is all the rage these days, I should share some key tips for anyone hitting the courts this year in a tropical paradise like .

Tip 1: Stay Hydrated: The sun in the Caribbean is no joke! Always have a bottle of water handy.

Tip 2: Proper Attire: Light, breathable fabrics are your best friend. They help with the heat and keep you comfortable during the game.

Tip 3: Sun Protection: Never underestimate the power of sunscreen, a hat, and UV shades to guard against those harsh rays.

If you have been around my IG/Facebook or chatted with me in person, you know I'm not a big fan of "Basic Economy" fares. I'm all about "value vs cost" and here is one of the reasons why.

WestJet just came out with a new "UltraBasic Fare". Here’s the thing about Basic Economy Flights you get what you pay for (or more honestly, you don't get what you paid for).

Did you know that when you choose a new WestJet Ultra Basic Economy Fare that:

* Carry-on bags: Carry-on bags are not permitted unless you are travelling on a transatlantic or transpacific flight, or if you purchase Extended Comfort for all flights in a single direction, including connections.

Personal items that fit under the seat in front are allowed and there is the option to check a bag in advance for an additional fee.

If you arrive at the gate with a carry-on bag when not permitted, it will be checked with both a checked bag and a service fee applied.

* Pre-assigned seats: You will be automatically assigned seats at the back of the aircraft, including middle seats, which may not be together if you are travelling with others. You have the option to choose your seats for an additional fee.

* Boarding: You will be the last to board.

* Not eligible for changes: Changes, cancellations, or refunds are not permitted with this fare.

* WestJet Rewards: Opting for this fare means you’ll miss out on earning WestJet dollars and tier qualifying spend.

Now I don't know about you, but is all that worth it? I prefer to purchase a higher fare knowing that I have flexibility and additional perks included.

Other airlines' Basic Economy may differ, but basically the fare is just that - basic. If you plan to go with a basic fare I HIGHLY recommend having full cancellation coverage on the fare so you don't lose your money completely!
