If you get a chance and would like to vote (daily if possible) it’s by elimination- only the top people get to advance - first cut is August 22. Stay tuned … I will keep you posted 🙂 thanking you in advance 🙂
Lots of berries to forage now with all this warm muggy weather. “Nature is Healthy”be sure to get out and explore.
Wild berries are plentiful this year be sure to forage sustainably and only harvest what you will use. The raspberries, blackberries are ripening, blue berries and choke cherries are all ready at the same time this summer.
Different than what I have seen over the last number of years. Even my bees are ahead of schedule for July. It’s a sign our seasons are becoming warmer and winters not as cold as when I was younger.
Foraging and jelly making started early this summer. Began with sweet dandelion, clover, fireweed, rose hip and others ripening soon.
My bees are busy too.
Medicine Walk Workshops (teas, cold drinks and more) including foraging ethics and wild jelly making coming later in August.
Posters will be shared in advance of events, early sign up is encouraged as seats are limited.
Another wonderful plant I’ll be picking this week and making jelly is fireweed. Also good as a tea with the leaves being steeped. OFound almost everywhere along ditches in open fields and sprouts up first after forest fires.
It is an anti- inflammatory, helps with rashes, good for headaches, it has anti fungal properties helping gut health.
Seeds can be used for a fire starter when the plant losses all its flowers so many uses !!
Great photo shoot today with Sabrina from Right Angle Photography. Exciting news for Explore Nature’s Bounty.
I even found her a 4 leaf clover. I explained it’s a talent I have that’s passed down to me from three generations and there she was saying “Find Me”.
Sabrina said I’ve been looking for years and never found one. !!! You have one now my friend 🙂
With these warm temps you can still
Enjoy the Beauty and Bounty in our local forests.
The shady spots provide exploring opportunities that keep me loving the outdoors.
Happy Canada Day 🙂
Be sure to explore our region this summer.
is Healthy
Biking past this area in Caraquet last weekend and I spotted one of my favourite plants (ok I have many like the Venus flytrap). This beautiful purple pitcher plant (carnivorous in nature) found in fens and bogs in NB has many interesting qualities.
The plant lives off insects that fall prey to its sweet smelling nectar, they land on the front of the spoon like head covered with downward pointing hairs. The insect falls into the hole of eternity filled with water and the plant absorbs all the nutrients - it is genius 🙂
I did get my feet wet although it was worth it to see these beauties up close. The tall flowering purple flowers are a hint that the leering plant is below.
The rain truly helps Mother Nature restore its bounty and beauty.
It’s officially summer time to explore our great region.
June is “Parks and Recreation Month” be sure to be out on these nice days exploring - we are so fortunate to have so many beautiful nature parks close by.
Every day is an outdoor play day for me 🙂
I have a set of tickets for the Saturday night show ZORKA to give away. Send me a request 🙂
I’m going Friday night I hear the local talent of over 130 preformers will be spectacular.
Great day to be out exploring new nature parks this time in Memramcook 🙂
Took part in the Heritage Path Tour at the Elsipogtog Mi’Kmag Cultural Center yesterday in Rexton. Be sure to check it out this summer as I learned more about the connections to Mother Earth. Lovely experience. Wild strawberries were in bloom had to have a sweet treat along the way.

Be sure to check out Cornhill Nursery the smells are incredible from the flowering plants to the aromas coming out of the kitchen/cafe.
So much to explore along the Fundy Trail Parkway. Be sure to check out our Amazing Places in the UNESCO designated Fundy Biosphere Region. #Natureishealthy
Be sure to check out the Fundy Trail Parkway this summer as there are so many Amazing Places to explore within the UNESCO designated Fundy Biosphere Region. My happy place !!! Join me 🙂 The waterfalls at Fuller Falls could actually be fuller (pardon the pun) although with low snow melt this year all the streams are low throughout the park and everywhere in the province.
So much to explore as Mother Nature provides warm days for everything to sprout!!! Can not wait for special clover finds 🙂
For many it was the first time to a camp and for candy on the snow. A truly Canadian tradition shared by all.
Maple season is here first big boil of the season today under the Fundy Maple brand. March is Maple Month - the sweetest season of the year.
Love bringing my own wild teas on hikes. Especially in winter when you need a boost from Mother Nature herself. Join me in the summer as we celebrate and experience the devine flavours from the wild - during my Forest Tea Parties.
