Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami congratulates Aluki Kotierk on being chosen to lead an external review of the Nutrition North Canada food subsidy program. Kotierk was named Ministerial Special Representative for Nutrition North Canada during a news conference in Ottawa February 25 with Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada Minister Gary Anandasangaree. This review of NNC is long overdue and Kotierk, former President of Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. and former ITK board member, is a skilled and respected Inuk leader. We look forward to learning her findings and working with her to combat food insecurity in Inuit Nunangat.
