A meet the host post.
I figured I should introduce myself as I embark on this new endeavor alongside many others who have my back behind the scenes.
My name Terri and I am the host here at the Lakehouse on Haystack Bay. I have many jobs the most important of which is mom to two little people who are my world. And who run my world. They are the driving force behind the lakehouse. I’ll get to more of that in a minute…
I also work as a public health nurse part time. I never imagined I’d play a role in a global pandemic, but here we are. It’s been an incredible learning opportunity as I’ve worked in a variety of roles throughout the pandemic. Kudos to all the healthcare workers who have and continue to work their buns off as we navigate through all of this.
I am the 4th generation in my family to settle on Lake of Bays. However, I also grew up cottaging on Mazinaw Lake in the North Frontenac and Addington Highlands Townships. I learned so many things growing up this way and I really wanted this for my children as well.
So here we are!
We found an adorable little nugget of waterfront property this year on Lake of Bays where my mother, grandparents, and great grandparents had all settled once before.
This is all new to me and I’d be lying if I told you it was easy or I didn’t question my choices or my sanity some days. But as someone once told me….”if you’re going to mess up, mess up with flair”.
The region of Muskoka, the township of Lake of Bays, and the beauty of this lake in particular are something that I am so grateful to experience. If you know you know….and I hope to share in all of that with guests as we welcome them to experience the beauty of it all at the Lakehouse on Haystack Bay.
