Thank you to the hundreds of visitors from around the world that made it to Lennox & Addington for an incredible geocaching adventure. Whether you were here for an hour, a day, the weekend or a whole week (or more) we appreciate your attendance.

A big shout out goes out to the local cache hiders that keep the game fresh as well as all the volunteers that keep our events running smoothly. You make us look good. And, of course, thank you to Naturally L&A for their ongoing support.

What a fantastic MEGA Day!

Good morning Geocachers! It’s a beautiful day and we’re starting it off with our Water Cache Canoe and Kayak Cruise.

There is limited parking at the launch for those with mobility issues, available on a first come, first served basis. All others are asked to park at Roblin Wesleyan Church, located just south of the boat launch. Please take a look at our previous announcement for all the other logistical details.

Note that there is construction on County Road 41 so you may wish to leave yourself a little extra time to get to the launch in Robin.

Wow, what a fantastic Thursday here at DLA MEGA X!

Lots of folks met signal at Naturally L&A HQ, and well over 100 people showed up to both the Babcock Mill and Dark Sky Viewing Area official events!

Friday morning starts with a bang with our annual Water Cache Canoe & Kayak Cruise at 10am, followed by the DLA Kickoff Party featuring JRan333 visiting us all the way from Geocaching HQ in Seattle!

Thanks for making today such a great day… and it’s only going to get better from here!

It's going to be a warm, but absolutely beautiful day here in Lennox & Addington. We hope you'll take a quick break from caching to attend the two official DLA MEGA X gatherings happening today.

The first is happening at the Historic Babcock Mill, located at 100 Bridge Street in Odessa (N 44° 16.366 W 076° 43.111). The fun starts at 1pm. Catch up with old friends, meet new friends and take a tour inside this grand old building. There's an Adventure Lab here as well! The second event today begins at 8pm at the Lennox & Addington Dark Sky Viewing Area, 7980 County Road 41 in Erinsville (N 44° 33.539 W 077° 06.994). Those in attendance can swap geocaching stories and eagerly await darkness to fall. Dark Sky enthusiast Tim Trentadue will be onsite, leading a laser guided stargazing tour and you'll get an up close view at the moon and various celestial objects through a high powered telescope. Happy Thursday!

Signal the Geocaching Mascot is officially in town for DLA MEGA X and wants to meet you!
On Thursday, August 15th from 10:30am - noon, stop by Naturally L&A Headquarters, located at 41 Dundas Street West in Napanee to get your photo taken with the big green frog.

You'll have a chance to win some pretty cool geocaching prizes and can get some tourist details from knowledgeable staff.

The entrance to the building is off Robert Street. Look for the Blue Naturally L&A HQ sign and the Geocaching flag flying by the door… you’re geocachers - you’ll figure it out. 🐸

DLA MEGA X kicks off this evening with our first official event... the Early Bird Meet & Greet!

Stop by Conservation Park in Napanee (N 44° 14.655 W 076° 56.970) at 7pm to catch up with some geocaching pals. As you know, cachers area always early, so expect to see a few fellow cachers from near and far in attendance.

We're expecting Friday's Water Cache Canoe & Kayak Cruise to be very well-attended. Here are a few details that will hopefully make vessel loading and unloading run as smoothly as possible. Below are the details:
Access to the Salmon River is at the Roblin Boat Launch... N 44° 22.505 W 077° 01.125
We're launching at 10am, but you are welcome to arrive as early as 9am to get unloaded.
Rather than parking at the launch (limited space available), we are asking cachers to quickly unload their vessels at the launch (volunteers will be available to assist) and park at Roblin Wesleyan Church lot, located just south of the boat launch.
We will depart at 10am SHARP, so you're welcome to get on the water anytime, but please stick near the launch so we can get a photo from the bridge and leave as a big group.
Remember, we are heading east (i.e. NOT under the bridge). If you go west there is a waterfall that you don't want to mess with.
For those that rented units, you can pay ($10 cash please) and pick up your vessel near the water to the east of the launch. All safety gear and paddles will be provided.
A portable washroom will be available at the launch for those that need it.
16 water caches will be available to find on the Salmon River!

You may have noticed that we've switched things up a little bit this year for DLA MEGA X. Some of our new caches have already been published... a few days earlier than usual.

We're getting so close to DLA MEGA X!

If you're bringing friends or family along that have their own geocaching account, please remind them to log their 'will attend' if they haven't already done so.

While the official event is this Saturday, we kick things off on Wednesday with a fun Early Bird Meet & Greet, followed by an event at the Historic Babcock Mill on Thursday afternoon and a Laser-Guided Stargazing Tour at the L&A Dark Sky Viewing Area on Thursday night. Don't forget about the Water Cache Canoe & Kayak Cruise on Friday morning (let's fill the Salmon River with paddlers!!!) and our DLA Kick-Off Party with Jessica from Geocaching HQ on Friday night.

We are 1 month away from MEGA Saturday and we have some very exciting news to share!!!

Jessica, a.k.a JRan333, will be joining us all the way from Geocaching HQ in Seattle, WA! She's excited to be making her first visit to this part of Canada and can't wait to join us here in Lennox & Addington for our 10th MEGA anniversary celebrations.

Did you know that Lennox & Addington is home to Canada's largest annual geocaching event? 2024 marks the 10th MEGA anniversary of the Discover L&A County Geocaching Event, being held August 14th - August 18th.

About 1,500 people are expected to attend this wonderful event from across North America and around the world, including California, Idaho, Missouri, Tennessee, Minnesota and most of the Eastern Seaboard States! A geocaching couple has RSVPed their attendance all the way from Vienna, Austria!

Thanks Naturally L&A for promoting our geocaching opportunities!

It's "Take Your Kids to Work Day" and these eager Grade 9ers are spending the day getting a crash course on all things Lennox & Addington.

They began their workday learning a bit about the role of Naturally L&A and, given that we're one of the premiere geocaching destinations in Canada, went to find a few cache containers hidden in and around the Museum of Lennox & Addington.

Despite the cold (and unexpectedly snowy) conditions, we hope they enjoyed the experience and will be able to tell their friends about some of the fun things we do to attract visitors to Lennox & Addington.
