Niagara Falls invites Taylor Swift and all Swifties to witness a “fearlessly” iconic moment as the majestic Niagara Falls is illuminated in a brilliant purple at 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 17.

This special lighting pays tribute to Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour and celebrates her six sold-out shows in Toronto, one of only two Canadian stops on the tour. As Taylor’s fans flock to Ontario by the thousands, Niagara Falls will shine in Swift’s signature purple-symbolic of her Speak Now era - in honour of her extraordinary journey and success.

Tonight, we are illuminating the Falls in honour of all the courageous Canadian and American soldiers that served in times of war.

At the top of the hour, they will be illuminated in red, and at the bottom of the hour in red, white, and blue.

There's only one week left to experience the fall Chrysanthemum Show and it's extraordinary array of hues.

Did you know that these natural autumn bloomers are at their best with consistent cool temperatures? And to reach their full potential, they need undisturbed darkness—no light, not even from a flashlight. This exhibit also requires daily attention to watering and plant health to ensure a picture-perfect view for all!

On Saturday we gathered in Queenston Heights Park to honour the dedication of our Indigenous veterans and their pivotal role in Canadian history, particularly during the War of 1812.

Parks Canada and the Historic Sites and Monuments Board of Canada were on-site to unveil a new commemorative plaque dedicated to Teyoninhokarawen (John Norton). The plaque complements the existing bronze statues of Norton and Ahyonwaeghs (John Brant), son of Mohawk leader Joseph Brant—both Indigenous war captains who led allied forces in the Battle of Queenston Heights.

Canada’s first female astronaut, first neurologist in space, and acclaimed wildlife photographer Dr. Roberta Bondar took the stage at the Niagara Parks School of Horticulture last night to speak about the unique challenges faced by migrating birds and to share insights on how we can reconnect with the natural world.

The lecture complemented her eye-opening exhibit, Patterns and Parallels: The Great Imperative to Survive, on display now at the Butterfly Conservatory. Guests enjoyed a private tour of the exhibit with Dr. Bondar, along with a book signing.

The magic begins at 6:30 p.m. with gravity-defying performances from Circus Orange, followed by an entrancing firework display to light up the night sky.

As part of its commitment to Truth and Reconciliation, Niagara Parks, in collaboration with Plenty Canada, has published Landscape of Nations: Beyond the Mist. This anthology comprehensively explores Indigenous life along the Niagara River corridor. The anthology is co-edited by Rick Hill, an educator specializing in Indigenous cultures, histories and arts, who currently serves as Indigenous Innovations Specialist at Mohawk College, and Tim Johnson, Senior Advisor for Heritage and Legacy with Niagara Parks Commission and Plenty Canada. Both are former executives at the Smithsonian Institution. Landscape of Nations: Beyond the Mist is available for purchase at Niagara Parks retail locations, the Niagara Falls History Museum, Niagara-on-the-Lake Museum and Fort George.
