Story: A Terrifying Way to Say, "Thank you"!

From the Downtown Hamilton Ghost Walks - - Jennifer was tying a rope around an antique couch to protect it. Leaning over to check the knot, she felt someone walk up behind her. Then seeing feet under her outstretched arm.

Thinking it was a visitor or another employee, she turned and looked up to greet them.

Feet went to legs, up to knees and then … nothing at all! Disembodied legs were standing behind Jennifer.

She jumped back but didn’t scream. Shock kept her still, staring down but not saying a word. It felt like forever before the legs disappeared.

And a feeling of calm washed over her body.

This is a common experience for staff inside Whitehern Mansion. Whenever fixing up the house, protecting antiques or garden outside ... calm will wash over them.

They believe the McQuestens are watching. Happy for the help.

The Collins Hotel was once the longest running in Canada, dating back to the 1840's. Icon Dundas building featured on our newest tour.

Which is surprising... because it shouldn't be there. Fire tried and failed 3 times. Including an attempted arson by a local Mob family!

Original drawing of Niagara-on-the-Lake's Courthouse!

Beloved architect, William Thomas, commissioned to build it. Known for his Gothic Style. He made a building the town was proud of ... until they move Court Services to St. Catharines!

Do you know Thomas' designs?

** How about... St. Paul's Pres Church in Hamilton. Or the Brock Monument. Or Toronto's Don Jail & St. Michael's Cathedral, plus more!

Rare image of Alma's shack!

Hermitage in Ancaster (Hamilton). After the destroying fire of the 1930s. Alma (last owner) lived years in a simple tent surrounded by many animals for warmth.

Then, this shack was built inside the Ruins. It's where she died.

Looking inside Niagara-on-the-Lake's Apothecary... captured July 20th while on the tour!

From Patrick, "Caught this image while snapping photos of the apothecary. I went back after the tour to see if there was something, like a mask or anything at all. Nothing."

Taken in a Jewish Cemetery still on Upper James St in Hamilton!

It's Bessie Starkman in the coffin. FYI... she's the most infamous Hamilton gangster of the early 1900's!

Wife to Bootlegger Rocco Perri. She was killed in their garage for getting too good at slinging drugs.

Odd reflection shows up during a Niagara-on-the-Lake tour. From the first place you'd expect it ... the Victorian House. Known for messing with cameras and phones.

Willowbank is a hidden, haunted house in Niagara-on-the-Lake!

The wife of 1st owner, Alexander Hamilton, is said to haunt the house.

(pictured) Hannah Hamilton always pushed her husband to be rich. To show well for the Hamilton name. Wanting to be a woman of station, even if not true. They were always stressed and in debt.

But Hannah loved Willowbank… maybe why she never left!

The doll is a paranormal energy centre!

Investigators who've been inside Baden's Castle Kilbride are aware of this little artifact. Once the darling doll of Laura-Louise (portrait).

She's holding that same doll in the portrait! Loved like a real person, the doll now holds much ghostly energy.

It's where Joseph Poole got drunk before getting murdered...

Vintage shot of building, once Bennett's Saloon in Dundas (now the TD Bank). Where Poole drank into a stupor, before stumbling home, and then out to the train tracks.

Murdered in a most brutal way. Dundas' biggest murder mystery.

Example how legends get out-of-hand! Once Canada's Amityville House on Hamilton Mountain.

Old Bellevue Mansion. Used to stand on west end of Concession Street. With legends of demon possession & murdered families (all imaginary).

Reason our own GhostGuide Daniel got into ghosts!

After demolishing it over 20 years ago, the landowner promised to build. However, it's still an an empty lot ... with an amazing view.

Know the park in Niagara-on-the-Lake with the Gazebo? Was once site of the biggest & most beautiful hotel in town's history!

The Queen's Royal Hotel (hence the park name). Sadly demo'd after WWII, due to financial trouble related to the wars. And where we stand for a creepy legend!

The Elgin House Hotel (then & now) ... once the nicest hotel outside of Toronto. Opened 1837 in Dundas ... any history buffs recognize that year?

It's direct connection to the biggest rebellion in Canadian history.

Only months after attending the opening of the Elgin... this once Dundas resident became a rebel.
