Graveyards are rare in Downtown Hamilton… but why?

An obsession with being the first! To run a city cemetery. This would be the Hamilton Cemetery on York Blvd (by Dundurn).

Let’s just say… it got extreme (involving shovels and carriages). That worked! Hamilton has the first city-run cemetery in Canada.

Only two remain. This one at St. Paul’s Church on James (dating back to the mid-1800s).

Couldn’t be touched because it sacred, blessed ground.

A family once lived in here! Gatehouse to the legendary Hermitage Ruins of Ancaster.

Once checking in folks for the Leith family, before a stunning ride through the woods to their house. Rarely open … except by us! Kicking off this unique Ghost Walk.

It wasn't burned with Niagara-on-the-Lake... one of only a few!

McFarland House along the Niagara River Scenic route, just outside town. An American outpost when they took the Region during the War of 1812.

John McFarland was taken and sent to the US. Thrown in a camp until after the war. Coming back to find his beloved house badly damaged.

But it was there! Can't say the same for so many Niagara structures.

Judge Campbell haunts 2 places in Niagara-on-the-Lake! But why?

Courthouse is obvious. His place-of-work for years. And said to be the reason for his death in 1860 (*feature story on the Ghost Walk).

The Apothecary… not so obvious.

Maybe a building on the land before it. Including… an office for a town leader named, Edward Campbell!

Now it makes sense why he’s in both. A helpful (invisible) hand in the Courthouse. And a tall, shadowy figure in the Apothecary.

It’s amazing when ghost stories prove themselves! The old Post Office in Dundas.

Stories come together around activity on the 3rd Floor. Namely, footsteps! Terrorizing the businesses, such as Platinum Lion Realty.

(Possible) reason … original path of a live-in Maintenance Man. Walked the hallway to correct & wind the clock (now broken).

Maybe the broken clock stirred him up… what do you think?

Going for a leisurely walk, or ... looking for ghosts! DH Cemetery is a rare haunted cemetery.

Where 255 men died during the Battle of Lundy's Lane in 1814.

Slow, rhythmic knocking inside the empty jail cell of Niagara-on-the-Lake's Courthouse building.

That’s one way for the ghost to get our attention. From history of a condemned man imprisoned in this dark and depressing room.

Leading to today … when an employee's day was interrupted. Having to find a key... unlock the room and swing open that heavy wood door.

What did she find? Nothing … but somehow that’s more creepy.

“What if I told you there was a man in that empty room?” Told to Castle Kilbride Ghost Guide Jessica after one of her 2024 tours.

It started with a leg. As the woman looked back from the Dining Room. The man walked slowly across the door. Never looking over, then disappearing behind the frame.

It's said to be James. Inside the old Smoking Room... his favourite place in life!

The Town of Dundas has many UFO sightings!

It's true! Some say because it's a Valley Town (clear view of night sky).

Strangest phenomenon ... the orange lights. Many remember these all over the Lake Ontario region in the past. Including our own Ghost Guide Tyler.

There’s an original public ex*****on site in Niagara-on-the-Lake!

In the neighbourhood, behind the main strip. A normal house now stands on the site where two people, including a woman named Mary London ... were hanged for murder.

For poisoning her husband, Bartholomew!

This garage once stood off Bay Street S in Hamilton. Behind the home of Rocco Perri & Bessie Starkman.

Starkman became one of the largest Drug Lords in Canada.

All led to this in 1930 ... an assassination in Hamilton! Cornered by two gangsters in the dead of night.

Photo was taken by the police the day after the 'incident'.
