We seem to often see double rainbows from our property for some reason.
Eagles regularly fish from our island. Mother eagle is teaching her off-spring how it’s done. Watch until the end, when she observes from our heart-shaped oak.
The oaks seem to be struggling this year, dropping leaves in July. It’s very dry, but I have been told by all the experts not to water the island, as it interferes with the natural way of things by making the trees dependent on that water and actually weakening them, and by introducing noxious weeds that could take over. To me, it seems like the trees are dying.
A tranquil Sunday Summer morning here on Coal Point.
An extremely rare occurrence!
Here our visitor is continuing along the shoreline, in front of the boathouse and cabin.
He came down the driveway, explored around the cabin, went over to our island, had a dip in “Hudson’s Bay”, then continued on in front of of the boathouse and cabin, along the shoreline!
This is a first, even for us! A bear came by to visit today. What a privilege to witness this! I don’t believe there has ever been a sighting in this area. The neighbourhood is beyond excited! Hopefully he can move on peacefully.
Six goslings hatched on our island again this Spring. An annual event.
