Naqsh-e Rostam (Necropolis)
It is a magnificent complex that has saved three eras of history. Including the Elamite gods, the mausoleum of Achaemenid kings, and carvings of Sasanian kings. This is definitely one of the most invaluable wealth of Iranian heritage.

Der persische Qanat

In den trockenen Regionen des Iran werden landwirtschaftliche und dauerhafte Siedlungen durch das alte Qanat-System unterstützt, bei dem alluviale Grundwasserleiter an den Talköpfen angezapft und das Wasser durch unterirdische Tunnel durch Schwerkraft oft über viele Kilometer geleitet werden. Die elf Qanats, die dieses System repräsentieren, umfassen Rastplätze für Arbeiter, Wasserreservoirs und Wassermühlen. Das traditionelle kommunale Managementsystem, das immer noch vorhanden ist, ermöglicht eine gerechte und nachhaltige Wasserteilung und -verteilung. Die Qanats sind außergewöhnliche Zeugnisse kultureller Traditionen und Zivilisationen in Wüstengebieten mit trockenem Klima.

Palace of Ardashir
The palace-complex is 104 meters (340 feet) by 55 meters (180 feet). The structure contains three domes, among other features, making it slightly larger and more magnificent than its predecessor, the nearby castle of Dezh Dokhtar. However, it seems that the compound was designed to display the royalty image of Ardashir I, rather than being a fortified structure for defense purposes. That is why perhaps it would be best to refer to the structure as a "palace" rather than a "castle", even though it has huge walls on the perimeters (twice as thick as Ghal'eh Dokhtar), and is a contained structure.
From the architectural design, it seems the palace was more of a place of social gathering where guests would be introduced to the imperial throne. The structure was built of local rocks and mortar with plasterwork on the insides. The style of the interior design is comparable to that of Tachara palace at Persepolis.

🐃 This double-bull capital is one of the biggest works visible in the Louvre! On display since 1888, it comes from the palace of king Darius I at Susa where it was discovered by archaeologist Marcel Dieulafoy during the first French excavations in Iran.

🔎 A capital is the upper portion of a column, widened toward the top in order to receive the wooden beams of the roof. This one is made of stone and measures more than 5.30 m, but the total height of the entire original column was about 21m, which was an exceptional achievement at the time (500 BC)!
-
😮 The space between the two addorsed bull protomes forms a saddle which was meant to receive the beam of the roof. This capital and its now missing shaft was only one out of 36 similar columns that shaped the main audience hall of Darius’ palace. It was certainly very impressive to any visitor, as suggested by a modern 3D-recontruction currently visible at the Louvre (image 3️⃣).
