Over the past week or so, well honestly over the past year or so . It's come to my attention that people actually don't know what a travel agent does.
No it's not just pushing a button to book a trip on the internet. ( Honestly a monkey can do that)

* It's the hours of research we sometimes spend making sure that the property matches the client.
* It's reading the fine print, and knowing that not all packages, flights and hotels are created equal.
* The rules change daily , we are know what is required for each destination.
* But most importantly it's what happens after the trip is booked !
When things go wrong... And they do!
This weekend was a perfect example.
Covid another great example.
Did you buy insurance? Did you buy the right insurance?
I have had 2 client medical emergencies in destination in the last 2 months . They were covered!
I had clients cancelled while at the airport . Covered and money returned.

What most people don't know is that commission is built into the cost of your trip . Regardless of where you book it . So essentially you're paying for a personalized professional experience and not even using it.

While yes I agree anyone can book a trip online. Not everyone can do our jobs and do them well!

Just because you can pull your own teeth at home, it doesn't make you a dentist .
