a coworker of mine and I were chatting today about the good old days when you could travel, and sharing experiences of different places we had been and showing each other pictures. it made me miss travelling so much, but also so thankful of the travelling I have done to date.

my fiancé and i were supposed to go to Europe, the Kentucky Derby, Costa Rica and many places throughout Ontario in 2020/2021 but for OBVIOUS reasons they were all cancelled 😭

soooo.. just reminiscing on other trips I’ve been on. this trip I visited family in The Netherlands, stayed a night in beautiful Belgium, went to the Vimy Ridge memorial in France, drank at Oktoberfest in Germany and then finished the trip off in Greece, more specifically Santorini 😍

what travel plans did you have pre-covid, what was your favourite trip you went on previously, and lastly what will be your first trip once we can travel again??

Hey guys! my name is Alyssa, and I am behind Sparkswood Studio.

My inspiration for building a tiny house, came from falling in love with container cabins. I think they are so cool, a great way to recycle used shipping containers and save on building materials. Unfortunately, they do require building permits and until we build our primary residence on our other property (where Sparkswood Studio will eventually live) we cannot have a permanent cabin. That is when I started looking more into tiny homes on wheels! My goal is to start the business on our current property, and then move the tiny with us to its permanent location over there where the property is larger, more secluded and it will be surrounded by forest.

The name Sparkswood Studio incorporates my soon-to-be married name Sparks ✨ Once I have a second tiny home or cabin (long term goal), I hope to incorporate my maiden name into its name.
