Wrapping up for the year 🎁

I’m so ready for a few cozy nights with the family and way too much hot cocoa/some festive vibes with friends, food, and a good holiday flick and a much-needed breather to recharge and soak in the season.

But before I officially shift into holiday mode, I’m putting the finishing touches on a dream trip to Costa Rica and getting a few clients ready for travel in early January.

I’ll be officially back at my desk on January 7. 2025 is already shaping up to be a busy travel year for my clients so I’m looking forward to relaxation before things kick off in January.

For now you’ll find me cozying up by the fireplace reading a great book or watching a movie, snuggling with my cats and family.
What’s your favorite way to relax this time of year?

Fall travel reminders if you’re taking a trip this cozy season.
📌 Bookmark so you don’t lose track of this!

🍁 Double-check for seasonal closures: Some attractions and businesses may close or reduce hours after summer, so make sure you check ahead of time to avoid any disappointments.

🍁 Be ready for the weather: Depending on where you’re going, don’t forget to pack for chilly evenings and rain.

🍁 Don’t forget about harvest season: It may not be the reason you’re traveling specifically, but don’t forget to add those local farms, orchards, or vineyards to your itinerary!

🍁 Beware of the foliage crowds: Popular leaf-peeping spots can get really crowded, so plan ahead, arrive early, or hunt for those lesser-known spots.

🍁 Take advantage of shoulder season perks: As tourism slows after the summer rush, make sure you’re taking advantage of lower prices, special deals, and more personalized service at hotels, resorts, and tours.

🍁 Remember that days are shorter: Daylight saving time is around the corner, and daylight hours are shorter. This may impact how you put together your itinerary.

10 pictures isn’t enough for this hotel! is a beautiful property 20 mins from the San Jose airport and is full of lush gardens, walking paths, beautiful rooms and a serene spa! When we arrived we were hit with a crazy downpour so I didn’t get a chance to walk to the 5 waterfalls, so I will have to come back and to try a few of their spa services. The pools however were lovely and had gorgeous views of San Jose.

We were able to do a coffee tour at just outside San Jose. They provided a fantastic tour of their coffee plantation and talked about their process that dates back the late 1800s. They hire Nicaraguan workers to pick the coffee and provide their families with lodging, daycare, subsidized groceries and still pay them per unit picked. I highly recommend this tour if you love coffee as much as I do. I learned so much!

We left the Osa Peninsula and flew on from Puerto Jiminez back to San Jose. The flight was about 40 mins and during rainy season, it’s best to fly in the morning before the storms move in. Thankfully our flight was smooth and not too cloudy that we could see the Osa Peninsula from above. If you were to drive, this would have taken 8hrs so this is a great option.

We were invited over to to walk around their beautiful property, see their rooms and have a delicious lunch. This lodge is only accessible by boat (we came over from Puerto Jimenez) and we were welcomed with delicious drinks and big smiles. This is a perfect place to disconnect and immerse yourself in nature. You can snorkel off the beach, take yoga classes on their platform bordering the jungle and ocean and go for hikes. I could definitely spend a few days here. How about you?
