Our Cultural Tours Division, we have arranged escorted group tours for a variety of organizations, as well as our own custom-designed tours all over the world. We are also pleased to have been chosen to arrange travel for destination weddings and anniversaries in some of the most beautiful spots on the planet. We pride ourselves on our constant attention to detail and willingness to go the extra mile to ensure the best possible travel arrangements. ECT enjoys strong relationships with air carriers which enables us to secure value-added benefits which we gladly pass on to our clients. This charming Canadian city was first discovered by James Cook the same explorer who discovered Newfoundland and numerous other North American cities in 1778. However, Victoria was permanently settled at the beginning of the 1800s by the gradual movement of fur trade companies, and officially founded in 1843 by the Hudson’s Bay Company. Named Victoria after Queen Victoria, this beautiful city still exudes old world charm with its winding and narrow streets lined with 19th century stone buildings. Magdalen Islands, also known as Les Îles de la Madeleine, is made up of a group of islands in the Golf of St. Lawrence, and although it is part of the province of Quebec, it is geographically closer to PEI and Nova Scotia. Jacques Cartier was the first European explorer to visit the Islands in 1534, however, it had been seasonally visited by the Mi’kmaqs for hundreds of years prior. This charming group of Islands was officially named in 1663 by Francois Dublet after his wife, Madeleine Fontaine.
